"I ordered here despite knowing how unwelcoming the staff are and how the quality of the food is hit and miss. I love(d) the battered fish however. Last time I came, we got a to go order and found the fish was spoiled after getting home! I wrote their corporate office and after two weeks, never got a reply. I fear I have to outright condemn this place. Also, they have had spicy battered fish on the menu for eight months, but have NEVER had it available to order. The kitchen is highly disorganized, wait times exceedingly long and the staff have virtually no social training whatsoever. This is actually the most outstanding example of a poorly operated fast food joint I have ever experienced. But I still came... the battered fish called me... till you served me spoiled fish. The one saving grace is no more. You really should just close down. This place is an embarrassment and ongoing tragedy that needs to end. Shame! Shame! Shame!"
"Soup with a Fork! It had probably been 15-20 years since I last ate at a Captain D's. A friend suggested we have lunch there today. I had the fried fish and shrimp plate. The sides of Cole slaw and French fries were incredibly small, but the fish and shrimp were OK, about what I remember. We both also ordered a bowl of potato soup. We were done with our lunch and it had not come out yet so I went back to the counter and had to wait a couple of more minutes for the soup to come out. I asked for spoons and the girl behind the counter dug around for a few seconds and then told me they didn't have any spoons. She handed me two plastic forks and disappeared back into the kitchen! No offer to refund the purchase, no offer to make it right, just her back as she walked away. Now, I remember why its been 15-20 years..."
"I took my parents out to eat for lunch and we were thoroughly disappointed. When we walked in, there was an employee laying down on the seats directly in front of the register. Then we ordered our food and the cashier was nice. Once we received our food, it didn't taste well at all. The shrimp was fried too hard, the fish was undercooked and very salty. I opened up my box of food and there was a long strand of hair in it. I knew it wasn't mines, because I have a short pixie cut. I went back to the counter and told the young lady that there was hair in my food. She didn't apologize for the inconvenience, all she said was "do you want some new food". So I said yes, and few minutes later, she brought me a new box of food. Again, the shrimp was fried too hard and the fish was fried hard but the inside still was gooey. So I only ate a few bites and threw it all away. Wasted $28 on our 3 meals because it was barely eaten. The floor was slippery. The seats had food and trash in them. An employee emptied the trash but never brought the trash can back so we weren't able to throw our food away. We just piled it up on top of the counter. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this location and I should have just requested a refund."
"This is the $5.99 fish & fries meal. I opened it up at the drive thru because it felt light and I see why. I asked the cashier Dymond if this was correct and she said yes because the fries had to fit in the side capartment. I ordered a side of green beans because this wouldn’t fill me up which was an additional $3. I’ve worked in the corporate side of the restaurant industry for over a decade so I understand food costs but this was beyond what I would ever expect. I also would never blame the front house staff for how much food is given but Dymond was also unpleasant and didn’t even say hi or thank you during my transaction. I would at least expect good customer but I also didn’t experience this. I will not be returning to Captain D’s in the near future."
"This store and the ppl are ridiculous.. 15 dollars for 3 small pieces of catfish and a small side of Mac n cheese.. The cashier was more interested in his conversation outside than coming in to ring me up. I'd give the store less stars if it'd let me.."
