Reviews of Pho Ga Tony Tony
"We ordered 2 egg noodles shredded chicken bowls. I was amazed how little chicken pieces in the bowls. If u order noodles alone, it costs $7.50. With chicken, it costs $14. I paid $6.50 extra to have 5 pieces of chicken. Each is as much as 2 toothpicks together (each piece is as thick as a bean sprout, no kidding). Come on owner, chicken is not gold in this country. From beginning, instead of going to Nam Phuong next door, we wanted to support little guys like y. But, never again we will set foot to Phở Gà restaurant."
"WINNER WINNER it is ! I am voting this as the best Pho EVER! I know pho ga is their specialty, but I tried the pho bo.( #13 rare beef pho) It was perfect. The broth was so hot and flavorful."
"This place was originally from Philadelphia, PA, on Kensington Ave. That place in Philly holds a dear place to my heart because my late mother in law used to love it, and we would visit this place every time my wife and I visited Philly. But this new place in Atlanta is a great disappointment... they don't serve the heart, gizzard, and liver(mix giblets) when you order a whole chicken like they do in Philly. You have to order it separately from your chicken order. This new place in Atlanta also had the slowest service I've ever received with just a simple order... I'm not going back for a long time until I get desperate for some chicken pho again. I'd rather eat at the pho ga in Philly whenever I go up there again than go to this place ever again...."
"Great broth. Gizzards weren’t chewy. Chicken was good. Clean and cute environment. Loved it coming from someone who loves and only eats flavorful food"
"They close at 5pm on the weekdays and 7pm on the weekends, so this makes many people are curious about them which was the reason I came to eat to see how good they are. P/s: Closing early is a marketing way for them, but I want to see how they will go in the long-term. They only have Pho, no other noodles and rice dishes which is similar to many restaurants in Vietnam where one shop will only focus on 1 or 2 dishes that the shop is good at. Food: They don't put MSG in their broth, and the broth is actually the same broth they used to boil their chickens. The flavor isn't too strong as my homemade Pho, but I think this is good enough for general custoners. I think they make fresh chickens everyday single day. This is kind of costly, and many Vietnamese owners that I know aren't willing to do this way in order to save the cost. I would like to see how their long-term business goes, and I hope they won't change because customers still like fresh foods better. Service: They are okay. Some servers seem to be more American style than the typical Vietnamese style, so they will greet you nicely, but there are some servers that are more into the Vietnamese style which give you a look when you walk in and don't smile and greet you at all; straight right-up asking you if you're ready to order or not. However, all servers seem like they don't want to follow up with their customers after they finished ordering. Once my foods came out, all my servers wouldn't come back to check on me to see if everything is okay or not. Overall, I hope to see this Vietnamese restaurant to not become a typical Vietnamese restaurant such as their neighbors, Nam Phuong, Hu Tieu My Tho and others. I will come back to try them out again."
