"Nice hole in wall place. Decent food for fair price. Breakfast was filling and inexpensive."
"Pleasant surprise! Lunch special $10 out the door and it includes a drink. Food that you can taste, I enjoyed my meal"
"What a joke this place is. Went in and was thinking about country cooking but not one country person in there is cooking as it's all foreigners making the food. That'd be like a Latin restaurant not having one latin person in there preparing the food. They wouldn't substitute the grits for a biscuit and the food was terrible."
"Not what I was expecting. Not a country feel. The restaurant is actually a large open area with a counter (lunch may be cafeteria style) with a lot of wooden tables. For breakfast, you order from the employee at the counter from a easily navigable menu on the wall. Employees are friendly and efficient and the portions huge. Atmosphere is almost nonexistent with minimal decorations. The elimination of styrofoam containers and plastic cutlery for “eat-in” diners would be nice."
"Donnie has now retired and breakfast/lunch are not the same. This used to be one of my favorite places for breakfast. When I stopped in today, I thought to myself "it sure is a ghost town" considering it's usually busy with retiree's, police, and crews from various companies. As I waited for my food, I watched the one gentleman that was there POUR salt on his food. When I received my food I understood why. The home fries and eggs had no flavor. Donnie did not use a lot of salt etc, however, depending on your dietary needs there was always enough seasoning to the food that you only needed to add a little or none at all. The other difference is that Donnie would put the eggs in the large compartment and the home fries in the smaller compartments. This may sound picky, however, the portion of eggs is small in comparison to the amount of home fries you are receiving. I'd rather have more eggs than potatoes. A co-worker told me lunch was not the same either. The servings were slim. Donnie's is a place that you could once go to and get a good breakfast/lunch for a great price. To top it off, when I received my food it was handed to me and then she turned around and started talking to the people in the kitchen. No thank you, no have a good day, no bye.....nothing! I will not be going back to Donnie's and I am sure they are going to loose a lot of faithful customers if they do not return to the Donnie's standard we all know and loved."
