"Insanely stingy with the portions… they sprinkle the meat. If you’re thinking you’re getting a chipotle bowl, it’s actually half that. Absolutely waste of money. Tastes is okay."
"The food is good and depending on the item you get you are able to get a good size, but this is only if you know the ins-and-outs. Most of the time the servers are stingy with the portions and, for example, will give you a spoonful of rice onto your salad but half of the rice will stay stuck to the spoon and they move on. If you ask for more, the main server will always tell you to pay more. Portions can definitely use work and constant demand to pay more for even something like rice is absurd. Other Tex-Mex locations will give as much rice as you want with free chips included. This is a recurring issue."
"Website says $2.50 for tacos on Tuesday, but apparently this is not true. They tell me if I wait I can get tacos for $3 from 3 to 5, so I waste 20 minutes waiting until 3. I go through the line and order 4 tacos, but apparently this does not include certain tacos and I was never made aware of this. Spent way too much for 4 tacos with no sides or drink. Would recommend literally anything else in the building."
"The food here is consistently great, but the way they are now so stingy about portions and supplies is outrageous. I’ve been eating here for 4 years and when I first started eating here, the sierra Madre tacos included two pieces of chicken or one large piece of chicken. Also, all taco combos came with a large portion of chips. At $10 per meal (a lot for a college student), it was something I knew I could make two meals, which was great. Now, the portions have literally be halved and the price has increased to $12. They give you one napkin and nasty stares when you ask for more. I get that we are facing tough economic times, lol but why ruin my favorite taco place :("
"It's a good place overall. As a vegetarian, I found this to be solidly good. Probably as good as most Mexican fast food places (Willy's, Moe's etc.), maybe even a bit better. The falafel taco was particularly good. Burrito tasted like any other burrito from fast food mexican places (in other words, good). A good break from college dining hall food"
