Fox Restaurant

"An old town diner with large servings of classic American foods. The atmosphere is a retro diner of the past mixed with memorabilia of the last 60 years. The booths are small and the seats lightly comfy just as the old Woolworth diners used to be. The service was very quick and the food was still steaming when served. We were visited by management who shows great interest in customer satisfaction. The Fox is very well known by Jax natives but word gets out and they usually stay pretty busy. The place would be full if it was triple size but I fear you would lose the personal touch still found here. For breakfast, or a great Reuben, try out The Fox. You may wait for a seat but usually isn't long."

"OK I tried the Fox Restaurant once again on 01/10/2024. And had scrambled two egg breakfast with bacon home potatoes and white bread with a glass of water with no lemon. Good meal and service. Update 12/28/2023 I came back with a friend of mine today. Who hadn't been to Fox restaurant since 2013 or 2014. We were able to get a booth to sit down at. But the one thing I noticed was it was colder in Fox than it was outside. So I asked a male manager to kill the fan and he said we could move you to another table. For the fan was on for the cook? OK well we didn't move and the fan was turned off. I ordered sausage this time with my two egg breakfast with water. They give you a slice of lemon which I didn't ask for. My friend ordered a Riverside Omelet with grits and wheat toast. He would tell me once we left the Fox that it wasn't much of an Omelet; it tasted like scrambled eggs flipped over. I noticed my patty sausages had been overcooked but I ate both of them. My Christmas Eve 12/24/2023, 2 egg breakfast was perfect. This breakfast was OK with burnt sausage patties. Disappointed in the attitude of the male manager this Thursday Morning. But Happy New Year! I stopped by Fox Restaurant in Jax/Fl on this Christmas Eve 12/24/2023 for breakfast. It had been awhile since I had stopped here. Because I do not like lines. The door was open and there was no line. I was lucky. So I came inside and a man in White with a Santa cap on told me where to sit so I did. On the backwards L counter seat next to the cash register. I was asked if I wanted coffee and I told my waitress Never but I would take water. And I was given a meal. I didn't want a lot to eat. So I went with 2 eggs over medium loose middles. Crispy bacon with home fries and white toast buttered just right. As I waited not that long. I looked around the Fox Restaurant and I saw everyone that works at the fox helped everyone else it seemed. I like seeing that in a restaurant. The man in White and Santa cap I bet was the owner or one of them. He was a funny guy that looked out for his customers even if like myself I hadn't been there in a long time. My Breakfast came to $8.87 a good price. I gave my waitress $11.00 for my 20 min or less meal and service with a smile. I enjoyed my breakfast very much. Merry Christmas to the fine people working at the Fox Restaurant and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone else. Or whatever Holiday you celebrate or don't. "Great local diner in the Avondale area of Jacksonville. Ambience is exactly what you would expect. Service was above and beyond, with team members working together. I was engaged by no less than four different employees. Food was delicious. Menu was what one would expect for a diner. Meatloaf Sandwich was fantastic. Fries were tasty and fresh. Coffee was excellent. Highly recommended."

"First time in and I will say it's awesome. I loved the old school dinner vibe, the menu is absolutely huge, and alot of amazing food combinations. The service was excellent, boss took us all to lunch and it's definitely a place we will be coming back to."
