"This was my first time coming here. I reallyy wanted to like this place, but in my honest opinion all of my food was very bland and had no seasoning to my liking. I ended up adding seasoning (salt) to my food when I got back, and I rarely do that, at the least I always add hot sauce though lol. I had the soul food plate, fried chicken, mac n cheese and collard greens. All of it was underwhelming and I really was expecting to taste some added seasonings and flavors. Nothing over the top, but just some great home cooked soul food taste. But, I was disappointed. Mac n cheese, very bland, barely had taste. The greens tasted fresh but no flavor. The chicken tasted fresh also, just no flavor. They service was nice and they have a warm, welcoming, home-like demeanor, but I wasn't impressed by the food at all. Edit: To the review response from the owner, I came on a sunday about 2 weeks ago. And in the same way that when you visit a place and have memorable experiences, whether good or bad, you still remember. I wrote this review when I had the time to write it. I post my honest opinions and experiences. To be honest, this response from you the owner comes off very unprofessional. Regardless of when the review was written, it is still my experience and very much valid."

"This is best food I've had since I moved here from MS. Food was hot, delicious, and my plate was full. The prices are so reasonable. The oxtails were the bomb. The gravy was the bomb. And don't get me started on that cornbread! Whew. All in all I will be back. 11/10 would recommend!"

"A nice little unassuming spot that was clean and had very good customer service. The food was fresh and very delicious. The wings were small but they gave me a lot. The vegetables were very good and a nice option to have besides french fries."
