"I had a dryer that wouldn’t heat, I stopped in and asked to have someone come out and take a look at it, I even offered to deliver it to their shop, they said they would come to the house in the next few days and would call prior… no calls that week… the next week I stopped back in their shop and was promised they would be at my house Wednesday… no one called me again… I called back that afternoon and was assured someone call me possibly Thursday but no later than Friday… no one called me again… on the 3rd week a gentleman in the store said I was on the schedule they were just busy… thankfully a service in fairmont was able to come out a few days after I called them and fix the problem in a few minutes. I wish I could give you zero stars."
"I bought a nice washer and dryer set from Mike Kelly appliances few years ago and I recently had a problem with. I think it’s called a relay or something on my heating element. It’s a really bad time financially for my family and the owner son told me to come over he would test it for me and he ended up replacing a little part for me free of charge. I wanted to make sure I had my wires hooked up properly as I was doing this myself so I texted Mike the owner on a Sunday evening and send some pictures and he got me back up and running with my dryer. It was such a relief that Mike responded within two minutes and got me back in business. My family highly recommends this little family business for sales and service, you can’t beat the prices and you can’t beat the friendship. They service all of Bridgeport, Wv. We’re going back after tax returns come in and getting one of their nice refrigerators"
"We bought a washer/dryer combo from Mike's a couple weeks ago, and it started out a disaster. The set that we bought hadn't been checked and turned out to be something that had been there awhile and I believe it was an honest oversight. When my husband went to start the dryer, it was making a terrible loud noise. We called Mike right away, and he asked us to give him a few days to make it right. The following week they delivered us a wonderful set, and Mike himself made the trip to make sure that we were happy, and that everything was working as it should. We really appreciated the extra care, we live an hour away so he really did go the extra mile for us. My new set is fantastic and that kind of service is why this business has been in the area for so long. It's the only place around that offers top notch service and affordable appliances. This was our second purchase from him and I won't go anywhere else for as long as they're around. Thank you Mike & staff for being honest and making things right."
"Had a leak in my washer. Called Mike to fix it. One of his repairmen replaced a hose that had a "small slit" causing the leak. Was told the "washer was fixed" and it was "ok to use." Ran a load of wash and watched it for 15 minutes...no problem. Left the room and came back 15 minutes later....The laundry room was covered in water. Water seeped out and ruined the hardwood floor outside laundry room (see pic). Water also went down the stairs to the basement. I have tile, carpet, hardwood, drywall ceiling and floor damage, as well as light fixture and HVAC damage. All told, at least 6 rooms and thousands of dollars. It is now a week later and it is still not dried out. Mike's guy came out and admitted the hose he put on was not secured, causing it to slip off. He told me "I put 2 clamps on this time" and assured me it wouldn't slip off again. I told Mike what happened and asked him what he was going to do to make it right, as I believe everyone makes mistakes and should be given that opportunity. He said "Well, you had a problem before I came out there...." "I don't think if I turned this in to my insurance they would do anything...." "I don't think I can do anything that would make you happy...." "Why are you putting the blame on me?" I told him I was not putting all the blame on him, I realize I had a leak, which is why I called him, and I don't see how in good conscience he could accept payment for a situation his worker made worse. Well, here we are after a week and I have not heard from Mike. I can only assume he has no plans to accept any responsibility, especially since he went ahead and cashed the check I gave him for "fixing" the washer (he fixed an ice maker too). Mike has done work for me in the past and the work has been fine. Before this, I would even recommend him to others, but no more. You can see someone's true colors when things go bad. If he is not going to stand behind his work, I would be very wary.... Update: Yes, Mike did contact me after the original posting and I think he copied his text over to his response for this post. I never denied having a leak in the washer. That was the whole reason for calling him in the first place. Yes, it did cause some damage, but nothing I couldn't fix with a little drywall repair and some paint. Certainly not to the level of an insurance claim for thousands of dollars! As for the hoses he says he has, being a repair business, I'm sure he has many hoses, but I only have 1 washer and attached are the hoses from that washer. I'm glad he did not take the hoses without my permission. That would not be good business practice. Please note the two clamps on the smaller hose that was replaced, and refer back to my original post where the technician said, "I put 2 clamps on this time." If there were originally 2 clamps on the hose, that's what should have been replaced the first time! I don't want to ruin anyone's business; the whole posting thing is quite tiring. I just hope I've given perspective clients "food for thought." I'm sure Mike will try to explain this post away as he tried with the first one, but I am done with him and his business and this post at this point. I need to concentrate my time and effort at cleaning and fixing this mess going forward."
