Reviews of Leapin Lizards Pet Shop
"I'm writing this review for my mother. She took her pet to Leapin Lizards Pet Shop last week for a bath, as well as a few additional services. One service she was charged for was not provided! We know this because a few days later at the vet, the vet CLEARLY STATED that my mother's pet did NOT have an anal gland expression. This is the second time she used Leapin Lizards; both times additional services paid for were NOT performed. She will be choosing a different pet care service in the future."
"We just went in there today for the first time and were in there a good 10 minutes looking at each cage from the front of the store on through to the back and nobody greeted us and the entire time I was there nobody asked if I needed help. I'm not sure if the color of a person's skin predicates the level of customer service they're giving or not but I made sure not to do business with them, though I will try to make a point to visit there again whether or not they're comfortable with our presence."
"Do not buy from this store. I have been in here on multiple different occasions. It smells like death inside the whole store. They starve there animals. I have murderous pictures of dead reptile that are skin and bones. Many of there animals are super thin! Many of there animals are highly neglected. The very first time I came her the LAZY dude behind the counter was on the phone talking to someone on the phone telling him how to smuggle in illegal poisons snakes across the state line. He was also talking to the same person about some bust that had happened in North Carolina of poisons snakes. What an idiot!"
"I used to frequent this shop regularly as a kid - I never saw any issues with the animal care but I was a kid so how could I have known? Revisiting as an adult - who specializes in reptiles - I was disgusted. ADULT Leopard gecko's cohab'd together (I guess if you want them to kill each other that's fine). Bearded dragons with COIL UVB, on opposite sides of the tank from the heat bulb, instead of a strip light. How could they possibky bask and get UVB at the same time? Pick one I guess. Bearded dragons being fed lettuce - I guess they only need a veggie that has no nutritional value. Couldn't even give them real greens? Might as well not give them any veggies at all. Multiple bearded dragons on either sand or reptile carpet - I guess that's fine if you want to give them bacterial infections or cause impaction. I've been in before, about 6 months ago, and there were multiple bearded dragons with tail rot and multiple dead fish in almost every tank. I took my 13 year old brother to buy a goldfish and the only one that they had was in a tank with 3 floating ones. The rats - why do you have 30+ rats in a 75 gallon tank? Good job causing respiratory infections, fighting, and inability for them to all get an equal portion of food. One mouse cage had no food. Very outdated care for these animals!!! This sets a very bad image for potential customers wanting reptiles or any pet at that matter. If you can't even set up the habitats properly in the store and feed them adequete vegetables. I highly doubt you're sending home customers with the correct information. Anyone looking to buy a reptile from them - I highly suggest you do your own research FIRST. UPDATE!!!! my review is not showing up."
