Distinctive Dog & Cat Grooming

"I tried to book twice with MJ. The first time, her assistant or receptionist took my info and scheduled my appointment 4 days before. On the morning of my cat’s appointment, I got a call that they were double booked, and I would need to reschedule. Now, about 5 months later, I called to try to schedule again. This time I spoke to MJ. She was apologetic about cancelling the first time. She booked me for an appointment at 11 AM on Saturday. Friday I called to confirm the appointment (knowing the history of them cancelling same day). When I called to confirm, she changed the time to noon, but still assured me I had an appointment. Well, here we are Saturday morning and she called at 9:45 to cancel my 12:00 appointment. The professionalism isn’t here as far as I’m concerned. She offered for the following Saturday. If I just had time to spare and this wasn’t the second time cancelling on me same day, that would have been fine, but that’s not the case. Find somewhere else to take your cat to get groomed. It’s obviously not on the top of MJ’s list to actually groom animals."

"I had a good experience with my high anxiety Persian cat. MJ made adjustments to my appointment time so that my cat wouldn't be surrounded by dogs (much appreciated) and was the only animal there. She groomed my cat and got all her mats out which was priority #1. She did a great job without traumatizing my cat. I'll definitely go back for her summer shave!"

"Let me start with my cat has grooming appointments 1-2 times quarterly in a year. I have NEVER had a negative experience expressed to me about my cat’s behavior during a session. When I dropped her off I went to get grab the cash to pay for services. When I left my cat was in a crate soaking wet. I had returned 30 minutes later and my cat was in the same crate completely soaked and visibility uncomfortable. At the time she was the only pet in the shop. I received a call from the groomer stating my cat went “straight feral” and she stopped services 3 hours after I dropped her off. She also stated that she will be keeping the full payment for only a quarter of the work. My husband picked her up and she was distressed the entire ride home and was completely soaked. Her nails were also half complete. Meaning she literally missed 1-2 nails per paw. Which shouldn’t have been effected by her behavior since she cut nails in the beginning prior to bathing. Moral of the story 100% do not recommend."

"Best ever! I worried about having my long haired temperamental cat to a groomer period. He's a rescue that hasn't reacted positively around strangers in the few months that I've had him. I had been unable to clip his nails myself. Ms. MJ had him clipped in the1st few minutes of our arrival. I got him bathed to try to help with excessive shedding. After I returned to pick him up, he was a different cat. He was calm and relaxed and looked like a model kitty. He didn't even whine on the car ride home.I would definitely recommend Distinctive Grooming. Their rates were half of what other groomers quoted over the phone.Very professional and I could tell they cared. Will certainly go back."

"This is a really awesome groomer! They paid attention to every detail, and what's most important- she took the time to make our cat comfortable, and allowed her to feel safe. I highly recommend this groomer. 100x better than petsmart or any other over priced place. Pricing was fair and discussed before any procedure was done, and because she took the time to get to know our cat beforehand, no crying or meowing in the bath. Give this place a try!"
