Joseph Academy

Joseph Academy is a unique institution located at 46 Opportunity Lane in Jumping Branch, West Virginia. This school, which is a ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church, caters to troubled young men ages 12 and up who are looking for a second chance at life. Inspired by the story of Joseph from the Bible, the academy aims to provide these young men with opportunities they may have never had before.

In a year-long program, students at Joseph Academy have the chance to catch up on schoolwork and learn valuable trades such as welding, carpentry, and farming. Through hands-on work, these young men are able to gain a sense of accomplishment and maturity as they see the results of their hard work.

Founded in 2010 with little to no funding, Joseph Academy has since raised over $600,000 through donations from individuals and churches across the country. This financial support allows students to attend the academy for free, giving them the opportunity to transform their lives without the burden of financial strain.

Under the guidance of Director Bill Robinette, students at Joseph Academy are encouraged to build their self-esteem and reach their full potential. Through a reward system and a focus on positive reinforcement, the academy aims to help these young men become contributing members of society.

At Joseph Academy, the mission is clear: to provide troubled young men with the tools and support they need to turn their lives around and become successful, productive individuals. With a focus on education, skills training, and personal growth, the academy is dedicated to helping each student realize their worth and potential.
