"The staff were very helpful and kind, but I am very displeased with the communication, timeliness, and quality of my glasses. I've been told three different things about when my glasses would be ready: We were there Friday 2/9. I was told both pairs of glasses would be ready on Saturday around 5pm. I'd get a text....Saturday comes, no text. So I call and I'm told one pair is ready, and the second pair would be ready that day before closing. I go there Saturday 2/10 a bit before 5pm since they close at 5pm on Saturdays. I'm told that only one pair is ready and the second would be ready on Monday. The person on staff quickly "cleaned" the glasses (still super dirty) and told us she was glad it was her last day there. No one offered to adjust them but luckily they didn't need adjusted. Staff apologized for the delay, but this was the second time I'd heard that they were backed up on getting glasses ready. I was told I'd get a text Monday when they were ready. Monday 2/12 comes and goes, no text and I didn't even bother calling. Waiting to see if I actually get a text today, and I won't be able to pick them up until this weekend anyway because of my work schedule. I'm tired of being told different things and making countless trips. At this point, I'm almost ready to chalk it up as a loss and go elsewhere. As for the glasses themselves, they are okay. Once I finally got them cleaned myself, I can at least see out of them. I am not pleased about the dirt and lint trapped between the lenses and the frames, that's careless and I can't clean that. The black speck shown in the photo is the worst, and there are lots of little pieces of lint that aren't visible in the photo. I think this is a case of you get what you pay for. I can see why the frames and lenses are so cheap. If affordability is an issue, I recommend seeing Sturgeon's Optical down the road as they have payment plans and will actually give you good glasses and not lie about when your glasses will be ready. I will not being going back to Eyemart Express ever."
"I went to the Eyemart Express in Barboursville after seeing the optometrist on 11/21/23. I ordered a pair of high index lenses that came with a free plastic pair. On 11/25, I received a text message saying that the glasses were completed. I went to retrieve both pairs on Friday, 12/1/23 from the Barboursville location. Only the plastic pair was completed, and the employee told me that the machine was broken, but that they could send them off to have them made faster since there was no ETA. 12/7/23, I called and asked if they had been completed. The machine was still broken, so I asked if it was possible to have them done in Charleston -- even offered to drive the blanks out if desired. The Barboursville location was alright with this, but the Charleston location called and told me that it was against company policy for the lenses to be transported by customers, and that they would be overnighted, and to expect a call when they were done (expected a few days afterwards). I called the South Charleston location 1/4/24 at 11:03am, spoke with a man who thought he put me on hold. A woman was talking to the man, and I heard her say, "No, that customer threw a fit to the GM and wanted to transport the blanks, so we are still waiting for him to bring them. She sounded suspiciously like the woman in the voicemail I received from the Charleston location. My offer to transport the blanks must've been unusual, but with the holidays coming up, I wanted to wear the same style of frames I had worn for about a decade, with higher quality lenses. You see, the glasses I wore at the time had a damaged frame, damaged lenses, and a weaker Rx than the newer ones, leaving me no choice but to wear a pair that I don't much like the style/weight of. Regardless, Charleston just blamed me and tried to shrug off all responsibility for the situation. To the credit of Barboursville, they said the machine was repaired, and that they would have the glasses done today (1/4/24) .. turns out that wasn't true. 1/5/24 - Went to pickup glasses, person I spoke with previous day quickly entered the room where they grind the lenses. Shortly afterwards, I hear a grinding machine activate. Woman comes back out, and hands me glasses. Doesn't offer to adjust nose pieces, which is fine, I did so myself. Take glasses and leave. Notice lenses are irregularly ground while driving home. Irregular lens shape is bouncing light from the sun into field of vision. (Pictured). I called back and told them that the lenses need to be remade, and that they need to be sent out. Was informed lenses that are sent out will take up to two weeks to complete. Already waited ~ 6 weeks for pair I ordered, what's two more weeks for service that's only billed to take about one hour? 1/12/24 - Received notification to retrieve lenses from Barboursville. This was a smooth process, with no additional cost. Though I am finally satisfied with the results, it took nearly two months to receive my glasses in a satisfactory state, which is unacceptable. Buyer beware!"
"Had the best experience there. Fast service, friendly greeting an had our glasses done in a timely manner. Great selection of frames. Will be using them from here on out"
"Excellent service at our first visit to Eyemart Express. We needed wide frames for our teenage son and they had a great selection to choose from. They offer same day service in some prescriptions and our son's were ready in less than 30 minutes!"
"We had a great experience at Eyemart. My son was not excited to be getting glasses for the first time. We had already shopped another eyeglass store with no luck. We decided to try Eyemart. Very friendly and helpful staff. They helped with suggestions and details that led him to the perfect pair. Then they discussed the available deals and what was the best price point available. We ended up with two great pairs of glasses at a great price. They promised them ready in an hour but I received the text that they were ready after just 36 minutes. Great service and product! Highly recommend."
