"Disappointed! Do not expect them to be there if your pet has an urgent need and no appointment. I do not mean an emergency. Sadly when we needed them they denied my kitty an urgent care appointment. I moved from another vet due to a friends referral. I spent over $760 to establish my 2 aging cats as patients at Briarlake so that if we needed them we had a vet right around the corner. I was surprised and that expensive fees, but did not complain. A good vet is well worth the expense. Then, last Friday - 02.09.24 at 8:30 am I called and requested a work in for my 15 yr old kitty. He had a swollen left check and appeared to be injured. I was told they could not work me in at any time the entire day. I asked the receptionist to ask her manager, and again was told, no. Next I pretty much begged and asked her to check with the doctors. She said no, and I was in tears. Do not trust this practice to work you in, even if you are prepared to wait, patiently. Briarlake Animal Hospital turned their back on us, but Dekalb Animal Hospital, welcomed us and my kitty is better today."

"We switched to Briarlake Animal Hospital in Nov of 2023. We have 11 year old cats (sisters). The yearly check up was so calm and lovely. The staff was kind and helpful, the vet and tech were SUPER informative and explained everything. Turns out both needed teeth cleaning so we took them in yesterday for that. They stayed in touch with us ALL DAY, the vet called me TWICE, once after cleaning each cat's teeth, to let me know how they're doing and what the results were. And when we went to pick the up, the staff were all super supportive, helpful with at home care info, and came to tell us how much the loved having our babies there. And Dr. Hiro came out (he did the procedures) to check in. 100% love this practice and will say and recommend."

"I recently took my cat to Briarlake for a check-up, and we will definitely be continuing her care here. Everyone was friendly, professional, and kind, and Dr. Earl was patient, both with my questions and with my cat’s need to explore every inch of the exam room! We did have to wait 10-15 minutes in the waiting room (the only reason for 4 stars rather than 5), which was a small price to pay for such a positive experience. "I just moved from Ohio to Georgia and was obviously nervous finding a new vet. We got to our appointment on time and were taken back within 5 minutes of arriving and left within 45 minutes even though my dog needed multiple vaccinations. They were so sweet from the moment we entered and gave my dog frozen peanut butter for her to lick while getting shots and she loved it and was so comfortable. We are excited to find a new vet that is close and affordable!"

"Briarlake was recommended to me by my trainer and I am so happy with our first visit. My rescue is super fear reactive so we had a consultation. The energy there is so calm and welcoming, and even my nervous wreck dog was less obnoxious. We got taken back very quickly. They are so accommodating and work with you. Laura (I hope) was the absolute best when she took his info. Seriously she was awesome and really put me at ease. Dr Hochel took time to explain everything for me and discussed options, and then worked within Charlie’s nervousness to give him a quick exam. They were both so wonderful with him. The bill was extremely reasonable, even with medication on. Briarlake is worth the drive for this vet, and I’m so glad to have them in our corner."
