"I’ve frequented a few Van Michael salons through the years and the Buckhead location is my favorite. I adore Portia, who is not only a highly skilled stylist, she’s also an absolute delight! Love her head and neck massage and her shampooing doesn’t get water in my ears (a pet peeve) and almost puts me to sleep. I really appreciate the way the shampoo room is closed off and has spa music too. The people who greet you at the front desk are always friendly, but I have to say that some of the checkout staff aren’t the warmest. They also neglected to contact me when an item I paid for during customer appreciation week came in. These are relatively minor points so I still give the overall experience five stars."

"if you are wanting to get your hair done by a student here just don’t. they don’t know what they are doing and the teachers are unprofessional. i was there from 3:30-9. literally made me leave the salon with my hair wet (i saw one client blow drying her own hair so embarrassing) so i couldn’t see the color and i wake up terrified with what i see. just so disappointed. now i have to go to another salon to get my hair fixed and pay hundreds of dollars. i’m putting pictures of my hair now and a pictures of what i showed i wanted."
