"Started going to Mz. Lady Lox, because I recognized her from Deeply Rooted, knew she was experienced, & she was close to my job. However, if you book an appointment-clear your schedule. I (personally) think if a client is running behind, they need to reschedule. It’s just not fair to the clients who are on time to have to sit and wait for hours. Last time I went in for a wash & retwist right before the new year - I sat for 3-4 hours. I peeked in to let her know I was there & that was that. She didn’t step out to give me a heads up about the wait or an option to reschedule and never apologized for the inconvenience. Another stylist, Fun, had mercy on me and washed my hair while I waited even longer soon after. On top of that, I wasn’t always a fan of the styles. It’s common to be asked what style you want in the Loc world, but I wish it was like the old salon days where styles were already available & your stylist recommended one that fit your face/hair type. All in all, I really wanted to like this salon. Especially because she was literally around when I transitioned to a TWA over a decade ago. However, the lack of customer service/professionalism & so-so styles wasn’t worth it to me. *EDIT* I stopped going years ago based on my experiences with you and posted a review on Style Seat after my last visit, but there was no reply. Interesting how that changes once I post a review on Google. No one is taking your experience from you, but the customer service was not ideal and I didn't address it with you then because you simply weren't approachable. I choose my battles to keep the peace. I worked at a nonprofit nearby, so it was supposed to be convenient and I knew of you + your work. I prefer to work with experienced locticians for a reason. Fun was not your assistant, had her own clients and was possibly an apprentice. However, she showed me grace and washed my hair a couple times while I waited. For that I'm grateful. There's no bad blood and I'm not holding any ill will or hate towards you. I wish you nothing, but the best and would advise that you be open to feedback in the future. No one is perfect, but the only way to perfect your craft is to be open to constructive criticism. Stay blessed, Za"
