"Pretty place. Would only give it one or two stars for “day use area.” It isn’t much more than a public boat ramp. Paid our $5 to park and found the one tiny area for fishing and picnicking already occupied. We walked around for 15-20 minutes and left. I don’t want to give it a poor rating because it is nice; the online description just isn’t accurate."

"Beautiful lake. Husband fished the banks while I walked through the woods. The water is surprisingly clear for a GA lake. Spotted lots of bass, gar, and other smaller fish as I walked around."

"If you have a boat then this place is cool, 25 horse power motor only but with no boat there ain't much to do or see,"

"This is a mainstay camping and playing facility for our family. We enjoy the campground, and like to paddle kayaks on the lake. The area is very quiet and nice. Staff is friendly and helpful, facilities are nice. BEWARE: the water is contaminated due to coal ash from Georgia Power Plant Scherer, so don't drink it, (bring bottled) and I wouldn't eat the fish from the lake. Many homeowners in the area have suffered decades of mysterious illnesses and high rates of cancer. I don't think a day here is bad for your health, but apparently a lifetime can be cut short in this environment. Shame on Georgia Power, too, for refusing to clean it up properly, or pay any settlement to the families that have suffered from their negligence."
