"Love the girls here!! Rita harris always does my hair right!!!"
"Walked in an hour before they closed. The person working there had one customer. Was told that I couldn’t be fit in before they closed. Needed a simple haircut for my son."
"I gave this place a chance because everywhere else was booked. I called ahead, even though they accept walk ins, to make sure someone could take me for a blowout. The young lady on the phone said she could do it. When I got there 10 minutes later, she had left so they sent me back with a woman who wasn't even on the clock. I said several times that I specifically wanted a blowout, not just a blow dry. The lady never did understand what I was saying, half way blow dried my hair, left me with wet roots and frizzy ends, and charged me $32 dollars for it. I paid because I don't refuse to pay for services, but I will not be back."
"Second time I had my hair cut and styled by Mikela, and she did a great job both times. I like that she curls my fine/curly hair instead of straightening like most places want to do. Their deep conditioning treatment is also a good one. I will be back."
"I wanted to wait a month or so before I gave my review. I will start by saying that I am an African-American woman, and I’ve been to the salon twice when relaxed and once when nature. During my time relaxed, I had a pleasant experience for the most part. However there was one time where I was left with soaking wet hair for at least 30 minutes while my stylist worked on another client. That turned me off from the salon, and I hadn’t been back for two years. The last time I went, I was natural. I had a funeral coming up unexpectedly and needed my ends trimmed. Normally I would have done it myself, but I didn’t feel as though I was in the right emotional space to tackle the task myself. I called other salons, but this was the only one open in the area and that accepted walkins that day. Because I was getting a trim, I went for a silk press as well because I don’t trust anyone cutting my hair in its natural state unless certified to do so. My stylist, Ashley, was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. However, during the process she proceeded to blow dry my hair after it had dried. Anyone who is familiar with heat styling knows that the hair must have moisture present to reduce the chances of heat damage. I had to tell her repeatedly throughout the session to spray my hair. Overall the style was beautiful, however a few wash days later, I’m dealing with hair that refuses to completely revert in some areas. None of the pieces are bone straight, but my curls are lifeless towards the middle of my hair. Also I’ve come out of the experience with tons of breakage, but thankfully I have a dense head of hair. To any stylist reading this, please further educate yourselves on dealing with type 4 natural hair. I’d rather be turned away by an honest stylist than to have my hair ruined by one that doesn’t know what they’re doing. A water bottle should always be kept on hand to saturate kinks and curls prior to heat styling and heat protectant should be used generously. I used to love doing my hair, but am feeling uninspired by it these days. Currently I’m on a journey to grow out the damage. Naturals beware."
