Reviews of Stock Market Dueling Kitchens
"In short: By far the most underwhelming and overpriced meal I’ve ever had. I’ve had a far better and cheaper meal many times at Texas Roadhouse. We had reservations at Stock Market last night for my birthday. After being seated, our server Rebecca got our drink order. She was so kind and great! Unfortunately, their tap machine was down so there were no draft beers and very few bottle/can options. The wine I ordered they were out of as well but I chose a different one. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer. They were bread and butter pickles but the breading had zero flavor at all. They were out of all duck items, veal items, escargot and squash casserole. We got our food about 30 mins later and it was beyond disappointing. My husbands medium ordered steak was very well done and had no seasoning or any type of flavor. My filet mignon was slightly more flavorful but very tough. Neither steak came with any sides, those had to be ordered separately. The house macaroni and cheese was the equivalent of hospital cafeteria macaroni and I mean that truthfully. I didn’t taste the potatoes so I can’t speak on those but my husband made it clear they weren't close to being worthy of being $10. When places like Mabellas is right up the road and the food is significantly better, it blows my mind this place keeps its lights on. We won’t be back and there’s so much they need to improve on if they’re going to charge what they do especially."
"Must say this is the best restaurant I have visited in Columbus. Usually I would go to Atlanta to go a "Nice" restaurant. But this place blew me away. I took my girlfriend for her birthday and they did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing! The service and atmosphere was stupendous! The drinks were immaculately prepared. I can't say enough things about this restaurant. It was way more than what I expected. Thank you for a great time and service!"
"Came here during weekday for dinner. Seated fast and served by friendly staff. There was happy hour raw/grilled oyster for $1ea till 6PM, we came in 10min before 6 so we scored some. The oysters are fresh and big. The food in here pretty different from the normal restaurant menu where you have to order the protein, sides, sauce all separately. The sides ranges from $7-$20. We ordered red snapper, lobster tail with sides of plantain and crawfish risotto. Okay for the sides, the plantain is so good its sweet, crispy on the sides. But for $9,the portion was surprisingly small. The crawfish risotto is really good, it’s creamy, a bit spicy. But rather than risotto,it taste more like Étouffée, i still recommend it! Okay now onto the protein. The lobster tail is nicely charred on the outside, the inside tender but on the thicker part was a bit too raw,the color is a bit translucent. The red snapper, we ordered this is based on the server’s recommendation, please don’t. It’s the worst red snapper I have ever tasted, so dry and lack flavor. The restaurant overall vibe is great! Especially with the location,it’s a nice restaurant but albeit pricey."
"The ambiance of this place is beautiful, appetizers and oysters are great. Service was kind but never refilled any waters. The downside to this place is the new A la cart menu and portion sizing. I paid $55 for for entree alone and it was pretty small, and not really good enough for the price in my opinion. It used to be like $35. The portion was larger and it came with veggies on the plate. It’s called the Chateaubriand and you can see references of it in the other reviews. Because of “inflation” the whole menu went up in price and down in portion size. I’d recommend this place for appetizers or drinks but not dinner unless you like paying over $100 per person for a kids portion and leaving hungry."
"First time here. Had charbroiled oysters appetizer, 2 waters, Chateaubriand, and veal chop...$120. Let me start by saying our waiter was Jon and he was wonderful, attentive and funny! Now...oysters..not bad but need little more cheese, garlic and butter...real Louisiana style! Also, $20 for 6 oysters is a bit ridiculous... At least 10 would be more acceptable! Chateaubriand was very good, not surprised it's their most popular dish. Veal chop itself was very good but the risotto was not good at all. Not seasoned whatsoever, I mean I don't like heavy seasoning but this tasted as of there wasn't a drop of salt...when my husband doesn't clean his entire plate, that is the tell tale sign, and he's not picky...lol. The portion size I will say is very good, most fine dining is very small portions with a high price but this place has perfect portion sizes as far as the dinner plates were concerned. I may consider trying this place again...we were told the menu changes every 3-4 months and they have brunch..so may visit again."
