"Calamari was outstanding! Very tender and drizzled with a tasty sauce. Crab dip appetizer was served too hot so that the oil separated from the cheese, but good. Our large family ordered two salmon blt with dirty rice, side of mac n cheese, a crawfish po boy, redfish dinner, and cajun fried chicken. We shared and tasted among the dishes. Salmon bLt was outstanding with crispy crust and tender juicy inside, and good bun and fixens. The dirty rice was extremely dry and left uneaten. (We had ample delishious food so we didn't say anything. I'm sure they would have made a substitution, but we were so happy with everything else.) Strangley, we were all done eating by the time the macc and cheese side came to the table, and there was no apology, they just delivered it as if it was normal to have your side dish arrive to a table of empty dishes. It was yummy. Po boy was super stuffed with crawfish, fries looked handcut and were hot and served with a tasty jalapeño ranch. Yum! Redfish disappeared quickly, lol. Fried chicken (2 big pieces) was served with a crunchy well seasoned breading. Excellent red beans n rice and out-of-this-world grilled street corn. Dessert was bienets and king cake bread pudding. Meh. Good enough. (I love Henry's bread pudding.) Bienets are hard to make outside Nola. They were respectable! Service was four stars but pleasent attitude. Never refilled my soda even once, never updated us on the missing macc n cheese, didn't know the difference between the two Atlanta whiskeys on the menu and didn't go ask the bartender, but still a nice person and explained the food well. Manhatten- no complaints, pecan Old fashioned was wonderful!"
"This was our first visit to Flatlands. We chose it because it was in proximity to the event we were attending for New Years Eve, and because of all the good reviews. We definitely was not disappointed. For an appetizer, we chose the Chargrilled Oysters. They were amazing! I had the Shrimp & Andouille Sausage Jambalaya. Delicious & had a nice kick to it. My date had the Seafood Risotto. It was also delicious. Our side dish was Grilled Asparagus. Everything was prepared perfectly. Our wonderful server was Kwame. He was very polite & professional, and took care of our every need. Looking forward to another great dining experience at Flatlands......"
"If you want great food, a tremendous atmosphere, and terrific service, then this is a must go place for special occasions (like her Bday dinner w/friends) or dinner for 2 or with just friends. Everything we ordered was a masterpiece of culinary. The menu has a taste for everyone, hint, the food taste even better... Yes, you will spend a little more, but the quality is priceless. We will be back and bringing others with us!"
"Outstanding experience and service from Akiria!! She was excellent and extremely knowledgeable and attentive to our every need. She went over our drink choices and then starters. I highly recommend trying one of their specialty drinks and the gator tail! It was so tender and not chewy like other places. We then had a mix of breakfast and other entree's. I had the Pontchartrain Catfish! A MUST!!!"
"Wow! This place is an amazing local restaurant that should not be overlooked! I’m not even a Cajun spice fan and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The place is decorated in a New Orleans style and there were these really pretty stained glass windows on the top floor. The koi pond in the front was so adorable. All of the food was so flavorful. I was worried my kids wouldn’t find much to eat because they also don’t like spicy foods. However, they enjoyed the chicken tenders, crawfish mac-n-cheese and the Gouda mac-n-cheese. The seafood risotto was incredible. I would definitely visit here again!"
