"I worked for The Strand for two years. It’s still one of my favorite jobs to this day. As someone who was hired as a receptionist, I was never treated as “just a receptionist.” While I worked on my customer service skills I was also taught color theory. While I folded towels, I was taught formulas. If you ever have half an idea you might want to be a hair stylist and master, this is the job for you! They will help educate you in day to day skills and chemistry."

"Katy has taken care of my hair for several years. She does a great job and that is no small feat. My hair is very thick, wavy in some parts, curly in others, and almost straight in the front. I have had so many failed hair cuts in the past. No one else is able to coax my hair to behave nicely as consistently as she does! I’m so grateful for her help."

"I'm sure they're fine, but I was less than impressed with their process. I just wanted a trim. I'm new in town and I'm looking for a new salon. Apparently, they use or at least the stylist I had used an apprentice. The apprentice washed my hair before the stylist even looked at me or looked at my hair, weird considering the person who's gonna cut your hair should at least look at it to see how it lays dry. Then the stylist trimmed my hair, barely struck up a conversation, even though I mentioned I was new in town and was looking for a new place. After she trimmed me, she passed me back off to the apprentice so she could blow dry me, I honestly wanted to have them straighten my hair with a hot iron, but I wasn't even asked. By the time she was done, I was passed back to the stylist only so she could walk me up to the front to pay. So now the stylist wants to chit chat (must be tip time). At this point I didn't care what my hair looked like, I just wanted out of there! Every stylist I've ever had for the last 3 decades have become friends, and I have always enjoyed going just to chit-chat and catch up. Instead, I felt like I was in a production line. Will not be back!"

"I went here today for a caramel balayage/color correction and I was nervous going here but after going and having Rachel do my hair this is the first good salon experience I’ve ever had. She talked me through everything and answered my questions. She carried a conversation with me. Everybody was nice there. The place is beautiful inside, and my hair is done beautifully. Also, my confidence is boosted so much. Rachel is my new hairstylist and I will go to her forever and forever. I highly recommend going here."
