"I am an Atlanta native and I went here for the first time with my husband on January 1st. The parking is atrocious and it feels like you’re going down and random concrete path to get there. Be ready to dodge some cars on the way in people are really coming and going we got lucky and got a spot toward the front. Lots of people and dogs! My two dogs loved it and had a blast there’s a great view of the river as soon as you walk in from the parking lot it’s gorgeous! There were people fishing but it’s cold so mostly just some pups in the water but again the view is amazing. The trail is mostly gravel and soil but there are some awesome bridges hidden in there as well. I wouldn’t recommend this for very young children unless you want to hold them the whole time. You walk a few miles along the river and there comes a point where you have to go up or go back we went up and boy did it pay off! The view from the top was incredible I really can’t believe this is my first time going here but we will be coming back for sure."
"What a lovely trail. Not super rigorous but you can pick and choose routes to create easier or more difficult hikes. Very clean. Absolutely gorgeous views. Super tranquil. Overall a wonderful escape from the big city."
"Great trail! Not all easy, not all hard, some nice sights along the river, and the bamboo forest. About 5 miles if you cover the entire trail."
"These trails have it all: shade, great views, bridges, and even the hidden bamboo forest at the northernmost point. Parking is limited, so make sure to arrive early on the weekends."
"Great spot to let your dog play in the water. And lots of shade in the morning. But you'll need to come early as parking is limited, mainly to hikers using the adjacent trails."
