Reviews of Sweetwater Creek Pedestrian Bridge
"Incredible park and very well maintained bridge. We were impressed with how well kept the bridge and the trails were. Makes sure you be careful on the trails near the water after some rain. They tend to get very muddy and slippery. There are so many miles of trails here that we will have to come back and explore some more. Tons of parking and didn't seem to get too busy. Trails seem to stay on the easier side."
"Pretty bridge with some interesting history. The hike out to it is relatively easy and scenic due to primarily being along the river. Awesome place to come and find some softshell turtles and yellow bellied sliders. There are also red eared sliders you can see along here, though they're invasive. Worth coming out to if you're interested in a short, scenic hike and are within the Atlanta area."
"Met my friend to help walk his dogs. Me and the dog got plenty of exercise! Outside of the dog wanting to mark everything, it was a great time. Looking forward to more hiking..."
"A very nice, yet less traveled portion of the park. You can scout fish and turtles from the bridge or head to the adjacent beach like area (waterfront sand area) to let the kiddos splash in the water a little bit on a hot day. It's our secret little spot..."
"Paddled upstream from just above class 4 rapids. Flow was 150 cfs. Above this pedestrian bridge there are two small shoals that you have to portage to get further upstream. You can just walk your boat over the rocks. At normal flows there is just enough water for a medium sized kayak or canoe to run the shoals when returning downstream. After a big rain paddling upstream gets a bit tougher, and you’ll see whitewater kayakers heading down to the class 4 rapids. The hiking is also great in this park. The further you get from the main trails, the nicer it gets. There are plenty of deer."
