Reviews of Tallahassee Pediatrics
"I won't be bringing my child back to this place. To start the dr was going to let me leave with my sick child before testing her for rsv because I had an appointment the next few days. Didn't want to give my baby her 6 month shots because she was sick and now wants her to wait till she's 8 months to get them. Told me they would call me with results and never heard anything. Told me a scheduler would call and never heard anything. Your buisness is awful and I hope you chose twice before taking your children here."
"The 'Beware of Dr. Simmons' talk is 100% true. My rating of one star is just regarding Dr. Simmons. Dr. Peter's deserves 5 stars. The staff and nurses deserve 5 stars. I feel when you work with parents and their children there should be some sort of sensitivity chip and hers is clearly missing."
"So my two kids got sick we took them here as this is there doctors office or was. They said it was a common cold and sent them home. After taken them 3 more times in two weeks they said that one of my kids had a ear infection and the other had a cold. This was going on two weeks so I took my other kid to Southwood ER and told them that I belive she had an infection and been sick for two weeks and she has been getting sicker they were great looked her over found out she had two ear infection and had developed pneumonia in her left lung. This used to be a great doctor's office and the only reason my kids went here was because of Dr Long which has retired all their good doctors have been leaving so my kids will not be coming back to this doctor's office . It is sad of the incompetence that some doctors have whenever it comes to the lives of others around them even after being told her symptoms they still said common cold followed up the next day to be pneumonia with two ear infections how can you miss this totally unacceptable. If Dr long was still there my kids would still go here but being that he retired my kids will no longer go to this doctor's office"
"If you ever wanted to be medically gaslit, then I have the place for you. I don’t know if race was a factor or if they were apathetic. Had 3 different encounters with healthcare providers 1) Pediatrician #1 was friendly and welcoming. She did the physical exam and answered our questions as new parents. The major question from our end was "What about his yellow skin? His jaundice levels?". She hadn't noticed the skin, but how do you miss that? You JUST did the physical exam, you have many many years of experience, why are we the new parents (who know nothing) the ones bringing it up. Pediatrician #1 wasn't worried, she said that if we wanted to then we can do a lab test. We say yes, and then later she calls us "Thank you for bringing up his jaundice. His levels are elevated, you have to go to the hospital right away". Again, why were we the ones having to bring this up when it was blatant obvious his skin was yellow. 2) After we get discharged the hospital advised us to do another checkup this time Nurse Practitioner sees us and she is friendly, knowledgable, does a complete physical exam and asks if we want to do another lab test. We say yes, the levels are higher than when we left the hospital but she said not to worry so we believe her. Over the weekend we notice our newborn getting lethargic and more yellow, we call the on call line and Dr. Simmons picks up. Her demeanor tells me that she is annoyed to have even been bothered over the weekend. If you are On Call then thats your job. She says "nothing to worry about, if you worried about it go to the ER" Me: The ER? Simmons "Yea it stands for Emergency Room." On Monday we schedule a same-day appointment (they will put you on the schedule, I will say that but I think only because they want money) 3) We see Dr. Simmons. She asks about his diet GLANCES at our newborn and says that he is fine. No physical exam at all! Yet she wants to charge us $200 for the visit. She advises against any further tests because levels are PROBABLY going down but we state we still want another. We go do the test. Another elevated bilirubin test. We went in the morning but they dont call us till 20 min before the practice closes to inform us and that we have to schedule more tests. Currently still keeping an eye out on our newborns health but why are we the ones having to advocate for proper healthcare? This practice works with newborns, with little babies why are yall apathetic and dismissive? Before this I trusted doctors but it is evident they do not give a damn about any concerns. And then the medical community gets peeved that lay people rely on WebMD for answers, with providers like yall why wouldnt they? The practice left such a bad taste in my mouth that I was very close to reporting a medical license for neglect."
"Friendly and helpful receptionist answered the phone quickly and professionally. It was easy to make an appointment to visit the office during my pregnancy. When I came in for my newborns first visit, the nurses and Dr Reyes were awesome, supportive, and answered my questions well. I saw Dr Simmons in my next visits. She seems very knowledgeable and gentle. The office is clean and my visits there have been pretty in and out. Not an unbearable wait any time. We're very happy with our experience so far."
