"Visited twice. First time, aimed for a Korean spot near work, tried the Korean spicy chicken – too sweet, lacked spice, and not the expected Korean crunch. Uncertain if it's fusion or authentic. Couldn't finish, but a 3 for decent portions and good bean paste soup. Next spot, no drink I wanted, so settled for strawberry lemonade – not very sweet, doubt it's freshly squeezed, but tasted fine. Quick rundown: - Spicy pork rice bowl: Generous portion, very hot, yum yum sauce saved it. Enjoyed it despite not being as spicy as promised. - Meat dumplings: Delicious, crunchy outside, yum yum sauce complemented flavors well. - Side dishes: Limited – bean paste soup, kimchi, radish, three sauces, green onion. A bit scarce for a Korean joint. Service had hiccups – food took a while, not-so-welcoming front staff, self-service setup might confuse when they call your name."
"„Oh. My. God.“ is what my sister said when she had her first bite of the spicy pork. She is from DC and she definitely will be coming back more often. I had the hot platter, also super good. We loved the fact that they have a „salad bar“ for this dining in. Here you can find really tasty miso soup, Kim chee and pickled radish and tea. So worth it. Paid parking directly in front of restaurant."
"UPDATE: I finally had the opportunity to visit this place in person this January and wow...it truly lived up to all of the expectations I had built up after ordering their takeout / delivery a few times more than what was probably financially healthy. Their kimchi jjigae is somehow even better when served piping hot and fresh in the restaurant, and their side dishes are delicious. I came here for my first meal back in D.C. after winter break, and digging into their incredible kimchi and tofu stew after bracing the cold to walk here from Georgetown felt like a warm and delicious hug. Sure, is $16 a little expensive for soondubu jjigae? Yes. But is it absolutely worth every cent, especially if you aren't able to trek all the way to Annandale to access the rest of this area's authentic Korean food? Also yes. -- This place is absolutely incredible! I was really craving some Korean food but didn't have time to metro all the way down to Annandale, so I decided to give this place a shot. It absolutely did not disappoint; all of the food was delicious, plentiful, and affordably priced. I placed my order on UberEats and, when it arrived at my doorstep a mere 20 minutes later, everything was still hot and remarkably well packaged. I'm often worried about ordering soups on UberEats, but BibiMix puts their soup containers into tiny plastic bags to ensure they avoid any spillage (a very small detail, but still one that shows how conscious of customer needs their staff is). I ordered soondubu kimchi jjigae and a roll of avocado kimbap. The soondubu came with white rice, as well as sides of pickled white onions, avocado, and cucumber kimchi, which were the perfect balance against the stew's heaviness and rich flavor. The portions are also fantastic -- I personally split the soondubu across two separate meals, and ate the avocado kimbap for a light lunch a couple of days later. All around, I can't recommend this place enough. I can't wait to revisit this spot in person once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted!"
"It’s was my first time experiencing this restaurant and it was okay. This rating is based purely on the food. The service and vibe of the restaurant was good. Okay, let’s talk about the food! It was a bit disappointing to my boyfriend and I. The kimchi pancake was not spicy. We expected more from a flavor experience. Stop holding back and let the flavor out. My chicken bowl could of used more vegetables. I wanted more chicken in my bowl but I guess I never asked for that. It was bit of a one note - noodles. No extra sauces were provided when I thought I heard they were added in the bag. Honestly, I won’t go back because it was bit below average for a fast casual spot."
"Headed out for lunch during a break while attending this virtual training. The original agenda was to visit a taco truck and call it a day but I BiBiMix on the way and thought to make a stop here. Ordered Korean Spicy Bowl and Wings. The waiting game began and it was quick. While waiting, I saw a friend from the gym so there was a quick hello there but coming back to the experience, food was prepared swiftly. Took the food home and started with the Korean Spicy Bowl. The food was fresh, the chicken was delightful and every bite was refreshing. Yes I used the word refreshing which is commonly used for cold sweet eating items. Now came the wings and boy I loved them. They had this layer of crunch and this crunch was different than any other wings I had. I appreciate this. I would conclude it by saying that this place is a must try. The staff is wonderful, very courteous and there was a moment someone from the staff was calling me out but I did not hear this but when I did, I apologized but the guy behind the counter is very sweet and just smiled. I appreciate small things like that. The food was quick and fresh. I will come here again for sure."
