Reviews of Holiday Inn Express Hotel Atlanta NW - Powder Springs
"Title: A Disappointing Encounter with Bed Bugs at Holiday Inn I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel and I must say that my stay was far from pleasant due to a distressing encounter with bed bugs. As a traveler who values comfort and cleanliness, this incident left me deeply disappointed and concerned about the hotel's overall hygiene standards. Upon arriving at my room, everything seemed fine at first glance. The room was well-maintained, the bed appeared clean, and the overall ambiance was welcoming. However, my initial satisfaction quickly turned into frustration when I woke up one early morning with a bug crawling on my face. I quickly grabbed my phone to snap a picture. Then I google the image and bed bug came up. It became apparent that my discomfort was caused by a bed bug infestation in the room. The bites were not only painful but also incredibly itchy, making it difficult for me to enjoy the rest of my stay. I immediately reported the issue to the hotel staff, who were not immediately apologetic but made me feel like I was the issue. Housekeeping came to the room to check. Shortly after their arrival, they stated they would come back to check the room after we leave. At this point I didn’t feel comfortable staying in the room and made a request to be moved to another room. At that time, I was told the hotel was sold out and they will do their best to accommodate me. Nicole at the front desk gave me another room, but I believe another guest was placed in the room I was in before being treated. While I appreciate the hotel in relocating me upon my request, the fact that such an issue existed in the first place is highly concerning. It raises questions about the hotel's cleanliness protocols and pest control measures. Bed bugs are not only a nuisance but also pose potential health risks to guests. As a paying customer, I expected a higher level of cleanliness and comfort during my stay. In terms of other aspects of my stay, the hotel had its merits. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating, and the facilities were well-maintained. However, the presence of bed bugs significantly overshadowed any positive aspects of my experience. I sincerely hope that Holiday Inn takes this incident as a wake-up call to thoroughly address the bed bug issue and implement more rigorous pest control measures. It is crucial for the hotel management to prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their guests by ensuring a safe and hygienic environment. In conclusion, my encounter with bed bugs was an unfortunate and unpleasant experience. While the hotel's response in relocating(after my request) and giving me a 10% discount for ONE day(out of 7 days) was commendable, it cannot compensate for the discomfort, inconvenience, and concern caused by this incident. I would advise potential guests to carefully consider the hotel's track record regarding cleanliness and pest control before making a reservation. I also reached out to the corporate office and got no response. Disclaimer: This review is based on my personal experience and reflects my own opinion. "I felt discriminated against for my disability I have an emotional support animal and before I could show any of my documents the female at the counter immediately told me my pet was not allowed even though the state allows reasonable accommodations for emotional support. when I tried to let her know that I had papers and was willing to provide them even though laws state I do not have to she continued to turn me away. Never once looked at my paperwork. I had to put my pet in boarding which was very difficult for me because I was in town for a wedding and had already paid my hotel fair. she offered to refund my money but was not good for me because it would not have been available for me to go purchase another hotel. The room also smelled of urine and no one ever came to clean my room I had to go find housekeeping in order to get clean towels. This experience has scarred me, and I have been a loyal customer with IHG, but I will never stay at another IHG again."
"Had a wonderful stay, friendly and helpful staff. Lady at the front desk was great. Tamika with the breakfast crew was very attentive and awesome, very hospitable. Our room was spacious as we had 3 beds. Will definitely return again when visiting Georgia. Location is great, had everything around you could possibly want and need"
"Upon arrival, I was greeted by the welcoming staff at the front desk who swiftly checked me in. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The room I stayed in was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The comfortable bed provided a restful night's sleep, and the linens were fresh and crisp. The bathroom was spotless and stocked with all the necessary toiletries. One of the highlights of my stay was the hot breakfast served every morning. The breakfast area was clean and well-organized, with a variety of options to choose from. Tanika, one of the staff members, stood out with her friendly and positive attitude. She greeted each guest with a warm smile and ensured that everyone had a pleasant dining experience. Throughout my stay, the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping my room clean and tidy. They replenished the towels and toiletries daily, and the cleanliness of the room was consistently maintained. The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the Atlanta area. It was conveniently located near major highways, making it easy to access popular tourist destinations and attractions. Additionally, there were several restaurants and shopping centers in close proximity, providing plenty of dining and entertainment options. Overall, my experience at Holiday Inn Express NW Atlanta was excellent. The friendly and attentive staff, clean and comfortable accommodations, and convenient location made for a pleasant and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Atlanta area."
"We visited for a short weekend getaway. The cost was not bad for 2 nights and breakfast was included. Breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast, omlets, sausage, muffins, cereal, yogurt, pancakes, bagels, etc. Nothing too wild, tasted decent. Our room was on the second floor, which had a cute little view of a creek behind the building. The room was exactly what I would expect from a Holiday Inn. It was nice, clean, and decently maintained. The bathroom actually had full-size Dove products, which I thought was nice. The king-size bed was nice but really soft. Someone else left a review about the air conditioning in the room being noisey and they were spot on. The unit is in the room under the window. Man, it's loud. Whenever it came on in the night, it was loud enough to wake me but was able to drownd it out quickly and back to sleep. My husband was able to sleep through it. The hotel is not extravagant. It's a nice Holiday Inn. We don't frequent the area, but if we did and needed a place to stay, we definitely would be back. The staff was super nice and welcoming at check-in. I think his name was Deonte, but he was super nice and answered all the questions I had about checking out. We were there for a specific event, so other than that, we didn't venture out much to see what was in the area. Overall we were very happy with our stay. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was great. Would definitely recommend to others looking to stay in the area."
