"I was experiencing lockjaw after a recent root canal at another place, and even though I could barely open my mouth, Dr. Smith at Coast Dental was still able to install a crown on one of my back teeth. Also, he took extra time to make sure that the crown fit perfectly so that I could bite and chew normally without any problems. Thank you Dr. Smith. :) :) :)"

"If I wrote a review when I saw them back in 2021, it would've been a fine review. Except this year, more than two years after seeing them, I receive a text message saying I owe them $254.68 for a service back in June of 2021. I called my dental insurance agency from that date of service and received an explanation of benefits. My responsibility was only 25 dollars. I have been calling them for WEEKS, trying to get somebody on the phone to even give me an itemized invoice. I cannot get in touch with anybody from billing. Scheduling as multiple times "left a message" for the office, but I don't get called back. It has been "escalated" which apparently means nothing. It still hasn't been resolved. Their average service is not worth this headache."
"EDIT: I am adding additional information that I believe will be beneficial to new patients.After speaking with my insurance company for an explanation of benefits I have found out that the dentist that treated me here was not in network. Which is why my treatment plan was not covered. NEW PATIENTS BE ADVISED please specify that you only want to be treated by the dentist that is in network to your insurance plan or you’ll be forced to pay out of pocket. I was seen by Christopher Smith who is an out network dentist for my insurance. Which I find funny, since the reason I even schedule the appointment to this office was because it showed up through my insurance company care portal.I still rate this place a 1 STAR because the communication and transparency around billing is nonexistent. They quoted my oral exam one way and then billed my insurance double what they printed out. So you should avoid an office like this. If you’d want to know more details surrounding my visit please continue reading for my original review. Original Review: This office is a very outdated and unprofessional environment. My appointment at the Mabelton location really took me out of my self. I have never lost my patience with an office like this one. My appointment time was 9:50: It wasn’t until an hour later that i was seen. The communication around billing and new patient cleaning services was piss poor. I did not get my teeth cleaned unfortunately because their care plan included treatment outside of my insurance coverage. Which was very disappointing because not only did I waste time coming to this appointment but the treatment cost was so astronomically high that there was no way that I could afford out of pocket to get the treatment they proposed done that day. When asked if I could still get a cleaning they said no, because I needed to get the treatment done. I dont know how they thought I could trust their judgement on this expensive treatment plan when the staff spent all of 5 minutes looking in my mouth. So that’s how that appointment went. Stuck in an unfortunate back and forth with the office staff. Because they failed to realize that their process with new patient is highly inefficient. I really hope the office staff pays attention to their patients complaints and make the following adjustments to be a more punctual, organized and effective."
