"We love fishing at Lake talquin. However, the new dock at Williams landing that was put in is not that great. The line tie downs are wood and little. They are difficult to work with. The other side has a broken guard rail. Wish they would address those."
"Absolutely wonderful place to be and explore. Thank you very much. Nearby coe's landing was great. Unique trees. Clean showers and bathrooms. Multiple docks. Rv spots and tent camping available. Rick is awesome"
"As promised. I was under the impression that a state forest named after lake would be near a lake and be a forest that is outside. It was all of those things. Maybe in the future on the hot days they could move some of the lake and forest inside to escape the heat but you get what you pay for. and maybe on extra hot days they can put some of the outside inside in the AC so that we can enjoy the outdoors indoors"
"Basic campground. Vault/pit toilets. No water, no electricity. Quiet and peaceful during my stay. Great views from the fishing pier. Lots of squirrels scurrying about. Picnic table and fire pit at each campsite. Raised parking pad with gravel. You will have to maneuver a well maintained 2.6 mile dirt road in order to access this campground. It became a bit muddy and precarious when it rained but they brought in heavy equipment to level it back out. Rangers come around periodically to clean the bathroom and empty the trash cans. There are no large dumpsters at this location so use small bags when discarding garbage. There's also a small boat ramp for those interested."
"Fort Braden Trails are amazing! Moderate difficulty long trails that lead through streams to the edge of Lake Talquin. Saw several Ospreys, Hawks, Falcons and a Bald Eagle. Also spotted water snakes and alligators."
