Reviews of 17-16 Bar
"Why would this be a place that mistreats and excludes people with *AUTISM*?? This question is based on my experience of being mistreated and excluded from 17-16, as an ordinary, autistic person. The person associated with 17-16 said that I can't come to the bar anymore. I did not do anything to deserve being excluded and treated like that. I still feel personally hurt, because of this mistreatment. It is important that you care about all of your patrons, not just some of them. I would add that, the person who decided this (not knowing that I have autism, when he decided that), can make this right. I would that I also can forget this, as if it never happened, if I'm able to come to the bar, as I have before. As it is, this is my experience from how I was treated: if you try to be social at 17-16 in your own way, and someone feels uncomfortable with you (even if you haven't actually done anything wrong, but was just misperceived), then you can be told that you can't come to 17-16 ever again. This was the horrible experience I went through, as a patron of 17-16, and I expect it to be made right, because it is really not right for a social business to treat a patron who has autism, like this. I just want to be able to come and socialize, like any other ordinary, young person in Auburn."
"Racist, illegal, and should be shut down. Tried going with some graduate students. One happened to be an international student that arrived in country about 2 months ago. Upon trying to go in and get a wristband , they immediately asked only the international student for ID (who obviously looked over 30) which the international student provided. They denied the international student entry stating that they only accepted American ID (which unfortunately is their right). Later, my white friend (who looks like they could be underage) went in and they gave her a wristband without even asking for ID. Unfortunately it’s not too surprising looking at previous reviews about this place and learning that the owner is the same guy who owns Skybar. This is a gross display of racial profiling and a racist way of conducting business and it’s a shame that businesses and business owners like this are allowed to operate in our lovely village on the plains."
"The best place to go to in Auburn. The ambiance, the drinks, the service… I coundt say a single bad thing. Great management and the workers are so kind. Would 110% come here every single day!"
"Went to this bar for drinks and a good time. Played bingo and won a speaker that was stolen by the staff!! They have no integrity accused me of stealing it, when confronted they had no ground to stand on! The DJ at the time was very confrontational and when all the evidence was shown to him that it was won fair and square he said the cameras were not in working order!! Even with all the photos and videos taken I was still accused of stealing it, even though it was handed by the very DJ that said the accusations. Moral of the story it was a 100 dollar speaker that was not worth the trouble but would avoid this place at all cost!! Would give zero stars if I could!!"
"No draft, just bottles and cans. Not expensive. If you're over 30, you'll feel like Gandalf next to all the other patrons. Walking distance from Auburn University Hotel."
