Reviews
"This review is long over-due. We've been members of Windy Hill over 2 years now. The gym environment - the equipment, facilities, cafe, everything makes Windy Hill a gym you actually WANT to go to and get your exercise in!! However, this review is primarily for the amazing coaches that make us never want to leave Atlanta & Windy Hill. Emma is an amazing coach and for a year, I've been so excited to go to the gym and see her. She also was a HUGE part in helping me feel confident for our upcoming wedding day! While I've mainly worked with Emma, the other coaches are all really great and will help you reach your goals & help you feel confident!! Windy Hill will definitely be a return on your investment!"
"I joined late last year, and when I did, was granted four free 30-minute premium class sessions. I used two to book an hour long reformer Pilates session and had HOPED to use the other two for an hour long tennis session. Pilates was phenomenal all around. On the other hand, initially, the tennis staff wouldn’t even follow up with me to book a session. It took weeks just to get scheduled. After scheduling, the tennis pro kept canceling my session. He once canceled my session due to rain, but they have INDOOR courts. Go figure! The other multiple cancellations were due to him being sick or conflicts (all via text, so I have record of it all). The last time he canceled on me, it was on the day of my scheduled session, but he didn’t cancel my booked sessions online. As a result, I lost the two sessions due to the club’s late cancellation policy. I wasn’t the one who late cancelled though, so why should I be penalized? I called the club about this, but no one called me back. I also reported it to the front desk in person. I told them to forget about tennis and that I just wanted to have my lost sessions reinstated, so I could use them for something else, but the club manager never got back to me. Weeks later I got a text from the tennis pro offering to schedule me. I didn’t respond, as I was not interested in having my time further wasted. Perhaps the club has good client service, but they are seemingly selective about who they deliver it to…apparently, I was unworthy. Overall, the facility itself is decent, but they have a really small heavy weight room with limited equipment that quickly gets overcrowded. No squat or hack squat machines, hip abductor or adductor machines, Jacob’s ladder or Captain’s chair in the place. Maybe they have these machines somewhere in there, as it’s a large facility, but when you tour the club, the “salesperson” points out the people on the floor who are there to answer guest questions. But, those people are also totally elusive outside of their busy hours, so typically no one is around to ask questions. I find the club layout to be intimidating. I understand what they are trying to do by creating stations, but everything is so spread out, so mostly, I just can’t find what I need, which thwarts the intensity of my workout. I’m disappointed. Membership is too costly for what has been subpar to often nonexistent service and support, and an overall mediocre and counterproductive experience. The indoor pool, hot tub, and wet and dry saunas are thus far the only redeeming features in my opinion, but they don’t compensate for the negatives. I don’t anticipate renewing membership at the end of my term."
"Been a member for a couple of years and I really enjoy the gym. Staff is ok for the most part, but some of the front desk staff not so much, including one of the managers. Literally, this guy goes out of his way to not greet me and tries to make it obvious. On one occasion I’m having a meal in the cafe with another member and he walks up to our table and starts to whisper in her ear, while I’m sitting there. Again, not even a greeting. I’m an adult and could care less about the immature behavior of some of the staff because I do not know them, and I know Ive never done anything to them. However, when it’s your job to be hospitable to members and you neglect to do that, it’s now disservice to them and simply unprofessional. As a manager they should know better. This is supposed to be a luxury gym, but I think staff didn’t get the memo. Maybe invest in a training so they’ll know and understand luxury. People choose you over LA Fitness and pay a premium price to get premium service - not to be outcast by staff as if it’s high school. Very disappointing. Rates are increasing, but not the quality of staff… I will not renew my membership - it’s not worth it."
"I got my membership in December and have had no regrets ever since! The lifting equipment has a wide variety of free weights and machines. All of the resources for recovery and cardio have been so helpful in my athletic journey. I have been able to utilize them and learn how to use exclusive equipment. The locker rooms are luxurious, spacious, and clean. Lastly, the cafe has so many options and the smoothies are always the best after a hard workout or class."
"A waste of money and travel time! They have a handful of equipment ( a small hand) for weight lifters. The locker room smells, and you can smell the mold blowing through the vents. The children who work at the front desk never know anything and always have to "call somebody". No respect for the handicap at all and will lock you in a contract for 12 months with no escape and will never acknowledge how disgusting their facility is! They will tell you that canceling membership is easy and no fee, DO NOT BELIEVE IT! IT'S A LIE TO HOOK YOU IN! The cafe food is disgusting and overpriced! The club is nothing more than a bunch of moldy space for a scratched up basketball court and 6 machines to work back and chest. I would rate this place -5 stars! This place should be demolished!"
