"Went on morning of 1/28/24 for chest tightness and generally bc I felt like death and had to leave work. Was given EKG which showed nothing of concern - had BP of 100/70 AND WAS GIVEN NITRO !!! When I reminded my nurse of my healthy BP I was told that “hes got my back if I bottom out” Ipon discovering I just had the flu the ER was still trying to admit me for cardio testing until the cardio team came in and agreed it was totally unnecessary. Please advise your nurses that the patients can hear the rude things they say about us from our rooms. The saddest thing is in our area we dont have another option to go to for better care.***my excuse for work had me returning the next day although Id been told 3days to avoid contagion?!?"
"My Grandfather had a complicated open heart surgery on 01/02/2024. His surgeon Dr.Sampath was nothing short of amazing. The nurses he had on night shift on the night of his surgery were amazing and helped save his life when he started losing blood. My number one complaint is with the nurses who have “cared” for him since then. I have seen too many nurses not wearing gloves, not washing hands or foaming in and out. One nurse in Cardiac ICU touch his port with no gloves to give him meds, did not put a new cap on the port, all of this after she told us she “just got done scarfing down hot cheetos and she did not wash her hands or use sanatizer. He got moved to 6F open heart recovery where since then it has been nothing but a mess with the nurses. (His night shift nurse 01/05/24 was the only one who was prompt and did frequent check ins, I wish I knew her name). Since my Grandfather with a freshly double cracked open chest and 3 bypasses has been on this floor he has fallen in the floor on to his chest (thank god no major injury from that) and has been suffering with a hospital acquired Urinary Tract Infection because his catheter placement was apparently not as sterile as it should have been. They have not sponged bathed him in 2 days nor have they asked. Now his I.V. infiltrated and the nurse who found it, Katrina,RN could have removed it, but decided to leave the room without telling anyone else or doing it herself. When she was confronted about it she got a snarky attitude, rolled her eyes, and walked away. The charge nurse for tonight (1/6/24) is absolutely no help at all. It seems like he is scared of the people he is supposed to be in charge of. The nurses are sitting at the nurse station talking so loudly about people that are calling the phones and their own personal problems that it can all be heard. These patients are trying to recover and need quiet to sleep, but it’s so loud out there my grandfather is getting woken up. BROOKE,LPN had my grandfathers information confused and was treating him as a diabetic and scorned him for trying to drink a pepsi even tho he IS NOT DIABETIC and she got rude when we told her he wasn’t. While she was in his room her nurse phone rang and she made a long grunt noise and said “my god people quit calling my phone!” That is so absolutely unprofessional and makes patients uncomfortable and not want to ask for help when they need it. I will be contacting administration, patient care advocate, and ethics. Overall i’m very irritated by correct sterile procedures not being followed and the lack of morality and ethics from the nurses. It’s shameful."
"My husband has gotten admitted today with cellulitis on his elbow that has been causing pain and the infection has made his arm tremendously swollen. He went to this hospital yesterday to see what it was and they put him in a bandaid room just to give him antibiotics and to tell him to go home. Today he went back in with the situation worse and knowing that he has not eaten they have taken more than 8 valves of blood and would not give him anything to eat so that he wasn't dizzy or sick. One of his female nurses walked into his room to automatically assume that he was a needle junkie and resumed telling him that he needs to start using clean needles and take better care of himself. Let me just say this man don't like needles never have never will. This hospital has made me and him both furious and the disrespect the staff give there patients is ridiculous and something needs to be done about there disrespect and laziness. So when does a hospital deny any patient food?"
"Excellent facility, regional cardiac & vascular center, multiple specialties. There is a wait in the ER at times, as there is at every hospital in the region. Have had 2 admissions & 2 surgeries here in the past year & have no complaints. Sometimes parking can be challenging, however they do offer valet."
"This hospital is absolutely trash! My mother spent almost 2 weeks here in MICU an had multiple hateful nasty attitude nurses. Call to get information half of them can't tell you what's going on which makes no sense because you should know everything that happens with your patient. They don't make time to listen to their patients needs or work to understand them they just do what they want an make sure family is gone to do so. Also room had trash all over the place had to come in multiple times to pick up. An the night shift is even worse just absolutely lazy! Most of them were just sitting around laughing an doing nothing. One nurse even laughed about my mom not being able to have her food that she had been waiting on for 2hrs before 7pm shift change for pudding and milk an said oh she's not getting it the kitchen is closed an this was a night nurse. After my mother asked to speak with a higher up they decided to bring her something because I figured they didn't want to get in trouble. You can tell their are a few good nurses but the rest are just there for the check and it shows."
