Select Specialty Hospital - Morgantown

"Not very impressed so far with the care that we have received with my father-in-law. My husband just had a meeting with his therapist, doctor, nurse practitioner, nutritionist, and anybody else that would be helping him during his stay, just after a week of being there. This should have been done immediately upon his arrival. Also, the meeting only took place because my husband had to put the pressure on them to get more information about his father as the communications in this hospital is very, very poor. Even after today’s meetings, when my husband called to see the progress of how his dad was doing with the evening nurses, , we get he’s” in good spirits” or “he’s eating like a bird” is not the feedback we are needing. They also didn’t know if he even have been delivered his dinner plate as of 8 o’clock this evening and they would “have to check on that” ??!! As a healthcare provider, I cannot understand how this type of patient care is being allowed. I feel that they are being neglectful, non accountable and not professional any in anyway. As well as no clinical documentation between providers at any given time To provide the most accurate information regarding the patient to their family member. We are very leary of how this place has mostly 5 star reviews."

"This place has been amazing for my mother and my family! My mom had open heart surgery and was in CCU for 3 weeks she had many complications along the way. Once released from CCU she was blessed to be moved to the specialty hospital here at mon general. She has had wonderful nurses, aides, respiratory therapist and many more wonderful people that actually care for their patients! She came here on a ventilator they all worked hard to get her off the ventilator and getting stronger everyday! From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank each and every one of them! Wonderful place with wonderful people!"

"This facility was amazing. Jim was so close to dying. The hospital said he would never be off of the ventilator and would always have a trach. They had him on a collar and off of the ventilator in a week. 20 days after being here we are walking out the door with no trach. No oxygen and no restrictions. He is actually walking out the door. We leave here with a new look on life. They are the most caring. Facility ever. The social worker was amazing made sure we had our FMLA papers done reminded us about paying our insurance because he was off. Set up meetings with the faculty so that I knew who was in charge of what. And they each explained their jobs and their plan of action. They took my number and I was able to get constant updates through out The Whole process. When Jim was scared they let me stay over with him. Respiratory staff is fantastic and so informative and caring. Nurses are always positive and upbeat. Therapy staff is encouraging but tough. All around great experience for such a tough time. Highest recommendation of this facility"

"I've had multiple issues starting last February and have been laid up a few times at Select. In my stays I have nothing bad to say and have made friends with several members of the staff. Being in a long term care facility is not fun but the staff and doctors are very attentive to patients needs and are willing to listen. Would recommend to anyone needing this type of facility."
