"My husband was there just recently after being in the hospital for 6 months. He needed rehab to build his strength back up and his respiratory. They would take him to the "3" hour rehab as a group work with him maybe a 1/2 hr and he would sit there the rest of the time. They sent him home way to early. I received very little information on the care he still needed and who his doctors were. He got home on a Thursday and by Sunday I had to call the squad to take him back to the hospital because his oxygen dropped. I don't feel he got the rehab he needed here. The nurses were great but the rehab is very disappointing."

"A loved one was admitted here for rehabilitation through the VA because they were the only facility he could go to. They sent him home unable to walk, he’s fell at their facility, his blood pressure bottoms out almost each time he is up out of bed. He’s 92 years old LIVES ALONE in a garage apartment. He told them he was unable to take care of himself yet they still discharged him march 14.2023 . This morning (march 15th ) he was taken by squad back to the hospital. He wasn’t able to urinate through his catheter. They found that his catheter line had NEVER BEEN CHANGED. Looked like it hasn’t been cleaned the whole time he was staying at this facility! Now he’s fighting an infection with antibiotics that could have been avoided by PROPER CARE BY FACILITY. Hospital took charge and took notes to file, we aren’t impressed and our loved one will never come back to this facility for many reasons!"

"The staff tried to be as accommodating as they could with the pandemic and limited visiting hours. Very disappointed by the rehab team as it seems to be more of a "maintenance" attitude, rather than an intensive inpatient setting. As a therapist in an inpatient rehab, I was frustrated and disappointed by the care that was provided to my father. They waited weeks prior to trying a transfer without the physical lift. Upon returning home, my father was able to take steps in a walker, transfer more safely and efficiently, and walk up flights of stairs (all with assistance) within just a few days. This is more than he did in the entire 4.5 weeks he was there. I'm sure Encompass Health is great for more simplified cases, however I do not recommend for patients with complex neurological impairments."
