Reviews of Doubletree by Hilton Dothan
"Great hotel, definitely the best in Dothan. Clean, quiet rooms, great showers with plenty of hot water. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby."
"I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Dothan, AL, for a business trip. The hotel itself met my expectations in terms of comfort and cleanliness. The rooms were well-maintained, and the staff at the check-in were friendly and efficient. However, my overall experience was marred by a significant health issue and the subsequent response from the hotel management. During my stay, I decided to enjoy some tea offered in the hotel lobby, a seemingly harmless choice. Unfortunately, this led to a severe 24-hour stomach bug that affected both myself and my coworker's girlfriend. The illness was intense, causing multiple episodes of vomiting, severe upset stomach, and complete sleep disruption. This unforeseen health issue had a direct impact on our business plans, as we were both incapacitated and unable to attend important meetings with our clients the next day. I felt it was important to bring this matter to the hotel management's attention, hoping for understanding and some form of compensation or acknowledgment of the incident. To my disappointment, the response was far from satisfactory. The management refused to acknowledge that the tea could be the source of our illness and dismissed our concerns outright. There was a lack of empathy and responsibility in handling our complaint, which was surprising and frustrating. While the physical aspects of my stay at the DoubleTree were pleasant, this experience with the tea and the management's dismissive attitude have left a sour taste. I advise future guests to be cautious, particularly regarding the complimentary beverages and the responsiveness of the management to guest concerns. My stay was generally okay, but these issues are significant enough to warrant a cautious recommendation. Beware of what you consume and don't expect much in the way of customer service if issues arise. To make matters worse, I was hung up on by management."
"We went to visit family and the service was horrible. The rooms were not cleaned and I was told management would be in contact and they were not. I had to call corporate and file a complaint and still no response. When they finally got in touch with the manager Joe Odierno he gave me several excuses and actually wanted to argue with me. He was unable to tell me why his assistant manager Kendall had not reached out since he was on vacation. It is unfortunate that customer service is not important to this establishment and I now see that the associates are reflection of the poor leadership."
"The good: the hotel lobby is very nice and the staff are helpful and pleasant. The food is good and there's a full bar. The bad: The AC in my room is annoyingly noisy, and I say that as a person who usually likes the white noise hotel ACs usually make. The issue is that the AC sputters and clacks as it comes on and as it's working. Couldn't figure out a way to keep the fan setting on at all times the way most hotel units allow you to. My room also has a door to the adjacent room, and it seems to let in a lot of sound from next door, more so than most of my hotel experiences. I could clearly hear my neighbors music as they showered this morning. The hotel is fairly conveniently located, but the entrance and exit situation is less than ideal. There's no traffic light so you must pull out onto a busy highway. Additionally if you're on the other side of the road from the hotel you must make a U-turn further down the road and come back to it. Overall the hotel is nice but there's definitely room for improvement."
