Reviews of AmericInn by Wyndham Stonecrest near Atlanta
"I checked in on Dec. 30 at @1:59 pm to checked out at 9:25 pm. After having a pleasant day/evening shopping and eating. My sis and I returned to the hotel to get ready for the evening. The fire alarm goes off. At first, we thought maybe it was a joke or something. We proceeded to the exit stairway and walked down three flights of stairs, noticing no other guest were coming out of their rooms. When we entered the lobby area to see what was going on. The staff member on duty advised us to wait in the lobby area, she's going to see what. Now, there was no smell of smoke and no fire trucks coming to the facility. I thought if there's a fire alarm going off, does it not contact the fire authorities to come and investigate? Well come to find out, a guest in the hotel decided to smoke some Marijuana in their room setting off the alarm. The staff member seemed upset about the situation, however, did not call the authorities. The whole facility smelled of Marijuana and my sis and I obtained a really bad headache. The staff member turned off the alarm, yet no authorities were called. After returning to our room still smelling like Marijuana, we decided to go to the Hilton next door to see if they had any rooms available for the weekend. Thank God they did. We booked with Hilton, went back to AmericInn by Wyndham Stonecrest near Atlanta, and checked out. We asked for a refund due to what went down at the facility, and how the staff member did not contact the authorities about the guest smoking Marijuana on their facility site. She advised the manager would have to process the refund. We asked to speak to the manager because the staff member never encountered a situation like this. The manager advised the staff member to give us this number (which she gave the wrong number) and corporate, (which she told us to Google for the number). However, we paid cash for our stay and we wanted our refund before we left Atlanta. We were not happy with the results. I will NEVER EVER STAY AT A WYNDAM FACILITY EVER AGAIN! The manager did not care about doing his job and satisfying the customer. When we called him, he sent the call to voicemail not once but twice. The next day, we received a call from a morning staff member who checked us in (She was nice, her name is Chelsea) on Dec. 30th. She wanted to know if we gave a room key to some man who slept in the room we were provided. I told her no, we gave both keys to the staff member who worked the late shift. We went back to the hotel after leaving church to speak with Chelsea who told us that there was a man in the room that night and said that he knew us. I advised that it was a lie, we are not from Atlanta and you saw it was just two of us that checked in on Dec. 30th. She said she remembered wanting to get our side of the story cause the manager was not trying to give us our refund back. The devil is a lie! I told her to contact the manager and the chick that worked last night. I believe the chick who worked last night must've given that man the key to the hotel room after we left. We have a printed receipt with the date/time showing what time we checked it. Again, nothing was resolved. I contacted Corporate and have a case open to investigate. NEVER AGAIN!"
"Location was perfect as we stayed for a retreat that was 5 minutes away. Located in the same lot at stonecrest mall and near a handful of other shops and restaurants. However that is the best I can say about this location. the location was good but there are two other hotels right next to it so try your luck there first. Upon checking in, the lobby is pretty clean, but as we got to our floor there was an awful smell that was too over to avoid. There was a garbage can with no lid standing just outside our door as we were situated next to the elevator, but the whole floor smelled of garbage. As we checked into the room, it was hard to tell whether the room had actually been cleaned and refreshed with clean linens. There was a wad of hair on the floor and hair in the kitchenette sink. There were stains and holes in the sheets. The sheets on the bed needed to be trashed altogether rather than reusing it on beds for guests. There were only 2 standard sized pillows and a small square pillow on the king size bed to start and they looked as though someone laid on them prior to us coming in….either that or they just threw the pillows on the bed. But the pillows felt beaten up. (PHOTOS ATTACHED) There were both stains and cigarette burns in the carpet. The staff member on the floor was more than accommodating to come vacuum and change the bedding, but some of the staff during our stay were unprofessional. When asked whether we needed anything, my mother mentioned we just needed towels — when we came back to the room that evening the cleaner left the clean towels on the sink and left our overflown trash can and dirty towels on the floor. There may have been a miscommunication about whether they should service/make the bed up in the room…but we found it strange that they would leave trash in the room, dirty towels on the floor and leave the clean ones on the sink the way they were left. The coffee pot in the room did not appear safe (sanitary) to use. From what we understand/ gathered … there are guests from a rehab who also frequent this hotel, we began to assume the lack of service and maintenance in the hotel was likely due to the guests that stay there (which I do not think is a valid reason…but assuming could be a factor). The following day the floor smelled even worse, this time of feces. The designated hotel for the retreat was the Hilton garden inn which is just footsteps away but unfortunately they were completely booked. There is another hotel, Fairfield Inn also right next to this hotel but we realized it too late to cancel our reservation here."
"I’ve been staying here the last 3-4 years when I come to visit family. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had. I’m not sure if it just went down hill since changing to a Wyndham property or what. I had to switch rooms due to plumbing issues. I didn’t even mention that only three outlets worked in the room, Tv fuzzy, the fridge not properly functioning as well as the phone to call the front desk wasn’t working. After being told that there was only one King Suite available at the time I was moved quickly to another room but this room smelled like it had been sitting with no air circulating. The latch lock on the door was broken, office chair was missing wheels, then I found dirty towels in the closet. (Which could be where the smell was coming from.) I asked for the room to be cleaned and the towels were still left behind.. Had to go buy some febreeze small spaces to make the room fresh. And last but not least the toilet made a loud ringing noise every time you flushed it. Made the best out of it because of the location for a family event."
"This place has potential to be nice but unfortunately it is ran down. The paint is peeling off the wall. The sink is cracked and bathtub stained. And on top of that they slide a letter under the door telling me there would be no access to water from 8 to midnight. Some of the staff was very nice, however I would not recommend this place."
"My first room wasn't clean stains on the sheets and burns in the carpet, and on the counters, the carpet and furniture were dirty. Then she changed my room and I walked into a dirty room. There was syrup and crumbs on the ottoman. The carpet wasn't clean. I didn't stay at the hotel. I had prepaid for my room for 3 days through a third-party website, and I checked out after about 30 minutes because both rooms that they offered me were dirty. They said they would only refund me 2 days even though I didn't stay there at all."
