"I went here based on Sushi reviews and this is not a Sushi restaurant. Yes they have some sushi items, but it’s not great. Super disappointed… fried anything is not sushi, it’s fried fish or fried rice. Most of what they have is fried. It’s also super difficult to find."
"Been hear twice already this year. My husband and I 1st came here almost 10 yrs ago. It was our favorite spot to come on special occasions. Now we can come on regular basis and the food is still amazing. Fresh sushi, they actually fried the tempura fresh right before they roll into sushi. Once you try it, you will not go to other sushi places because you now know what fresh taste like. The price is very reasonable. Super busy on the weekends. Weekdays might be less wait."
"Fantastic food and great owners. I love to support local places where you meet and interact with the owners. Minato Japanese restaurant in Smyrna Georgia. Family owned family run . This restaurant's been here for 30 years and is excellent. Only issues find me a place to park but trust me it's well worth it. Today I have the sauteed scallops and brown butter and also something not on the menu that you have to ask for is the Cowboy Hat appetizer. It's a rice cracker with crab salad, that they make in the house topped with a fried scallop . And a small salad ans miso soup, I was full !!!!! I also had another special appetizer seafood salad with shrimp topped with avocado this was my birthday special treat from the owners it is called Kevin #2.1 special order it!!!! Find this place it's out of the way under and behind the QT on Spring Street near the Battery and Truist Park. Well worth the trip. Update September 27th. Had a fantastic lunch today with my wife. We had tempura appetizer which was a fabulous. We also had scalloped tempura which is out of this world. We had the house special role of the homemade seafood salad like on the cowboy hat which is described earlier with sweet shrimp and a teriyaki sauce. Fantastic. And the wife had a curry with pork cutlet and she loved and I had the salmon teriyaki which was great. Again another visit where the owners are waiting on you and care about you and the food. You really must try this place. More pictures added today"
"I could see why they have been around for 30+ years! Everything we ate was fresh and as you heard it from others, the sushi portions are very generous! The cowboy hat was like a very sweet/savory dessert to end our meal. My curiosity got the better of me, but I enjoyed it. We sat at the sushi bar and next to a candid but positively hilarious group. The servers are very polite and helpful in recommendations. My favorite bite(s) was the Hamachi sushi. You will not find another place like this... the decor transport you back to the early 90s. Just come here at least once to experience it yourself :)"
