"This is the worst hospital I have EVER been to. My fiancé came in for a pilondial cyst on his tailbone that his PCP said needed to be removed immediately, that he would call the on call surgeon. We came to the ER, and it took 3 hours for him to get in. Doctor said he has waited a month to have it looked at, what’s another day. He could come back in the morning and have it removed. The surgeon needed to approve of this, but the surgeon was never called. All of the patients in the waiting room have been here for at least 3 hours. Thank God his condition was nothing too severe. The cafeteria isn’t even open past 6 pm. I would highly recommend driving the extra 20 minutes to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital."
"Went there in June of 2022 for an infusion. Because I had covid and was pretty sick with it. The nurse was so nice and made me comfortable.. That was the first time I had been there…"
"Sitting in the ER and St. Joseph Hospital for over 2 hours with a child who may be having an allergic reaction. There are still 5 people ahead of us. This wait is normal for this hospital. I would love to know how they fake getting a 5 star rating from customers. It will be such a welcome addition when the new hospital is built 15 minutes down the road. We could also drive 50 minutes to the next town and and be seen quicker. There have been lots of complaints to the CEO and the board but they go unanswered. If you have anything more than a cold, avoid this hospital at all costs. I wish there was negative numbers in the star reviews"
"My teenage son visited Er after midnight for chest pain. The ONLY test ran was an EKG and Dr.Fisher did not allow me to give complete family medical history which includes severe cardiac and lung issues and aneurysms which started at an early age in almost all close family members. Bedside manner was horrible. When I tried to inform him of history he interrupted me by asking how old I was when I had my heart attack. When I said 40 he said ok not 14 and did not allow me to continue. Heart attack was my first but very definitely not only concern. I used to work on St Joe’s med-surg unit and would have recommended it to anyone. In the past Dr Fisher was very good with my father, so I was surprised. However, as a parent all that went out the window, very very disappointed at the lackadaisical performance and condescending tone."
"I had a great experience at the outpatient surgery unit. Everyone from Dr. Susan Long to the nurses and the Anesthesiologist treated me with respect and kindness. My procedure was explained and all my questions were answered. The level of care I received was that of a much larger hospital. Registration was quick and easy. The hospital is very clean and the wait time was reasonable for a surgical procedure. Thank you St Joseph's Hospital for taking such good care of me."
