"I brought my car here because I had previous positive experience with the other JAR in Suwanee, but they were too busy when I was having my car towed, so went to this new location instead. My issue was the car did not start, and there was an occasional ticking noise from the engine. Unfortunately/fortunately it did start there, and they had a problem replicating the issue, but was able to do so eventually. They advised I had carbon build up and an old/dead battery. A new battery, performance package, fuel induction service, and I was able to pick up my car. It did start, but it continued to have the slow/hard start issue. Apparently this was a separate issue than the bad battery. A month or so later I take it back and told it was a timing chain issue. I was not happy this was not diagnosed originally, but after speaking with the shop manager, he explained the issue and took steps to make sure I was happy with the experience. The shop is nice and clean, they did not charge me for the second visit diagnostic work, people were kind, no one I spoke to was ever rude. (The shop manager proactively reached out to me via text to see how the car was doing after the initial visit. That's never happened to me before)"
"This was my first time at JAR, and it was a very good experience! The mechanic and service manager was friendly and knowledgeable. They repaired my Subaru for much less than what the dealership would have charged, so I saved $$$. Also, they got it done fast! I could see that they wanted to earn my business, and they did. I will be back. It was worth the drive."
"My first and second visit to change oil! The waiting lounge is cozy, accommodating, and warm! The master and engineer were all kind and good mannered! Though the shop was full of cars that were getting service and so I had to wait a couple of hours until work was done, still the time was worth it, plus, I got some discounted service from the master which was an unexpected pleasure! Hope to visit regularly for oil change and any other maintenances!"
"When I was younger, I had to learn to work on my own vehicles due to my encounters with some shady shops and mechanics. I wish there had been a "Japanese Auto Repair" back then, where I lived. These guys are honest, up front, and professional. Their customer waiting area is clean. They offer coffee, tea, water and drinks as we wait. The shop is clean, the building is very well maintained. They also have coupons for discounts on oil changes and other services. I'm told some are mailed out and there is one in the magazine, Flavor. I feel like part of a family with the staff at Japanese Auto Repair in Buford. They seem to always be busy. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcomed. Ask for David or Mike. These guys are great!"
"It was the first time I came here to change the oil of my car. The super large and spacious indoor repair shop and the clean and tidy waiting area all attracted me deeply. Drinks, coffee and snacks are also provided free of charge during the waiting time! Heartwarming experience! The staff are patient, they are professional, and the price is reasonable! Perfect experience, five-star recommendation!"
