"I would give them a negative star if I could. I took my daughter to have her car to have tests ran and have parts replaced. When we finally were called to pick it up, the car did have the parts put on it, though there was still a noise, and the radio no longer worked. We called to let them know and was told to bring it back so they could look at it. That is what we did. They kept the car for a week longer and we never received a phone call until the day came to pick it up. When we arrived there was damage to the inside of the car and the radio still didn't work. When we asked for them to repair the damages they wanted to charge over 1000 to repair the damages they caused, on top of the 80 they charged for it to be looked at, and claimed the car was an older model and so brittle that the damages could not be helped and not their fault. Haha. That is NOT true. Now we had other mechanics look at it and they were in disbelief at what this small family business had done. Instead of offering to repair damages after being paid 2000 to repair my college daughter's car, they wanted to charge her to repair their carelessness. There was no reason for these damages to be done. After seeing these reviews and them claiming to be a small family business, they should be more caring than they are being it is a small family business. Not for it to be used as a defense for their carelessness. Now we have to pay another mechanic to repair the damages."

"On Thursday March 2nd while traveling north from Southern Florida I experienced a loss of my braking system. After notifying my road side service they immediately went to work finding a garage that could receive me and get me back onto the 1000 miles of roadway that I still had before me. Enter Grimes Auto Service. Not only did they get to me right away - but they were waiting for the tow truck to arrive. (This was certainly NOT due to their lack of business, as even the truck driver expressed concern that the business looked too busy to take on another vehicle) - this however, was not the case. My entire experience with Grimes was 5 star. They treated me with the up most respect (which once again, being a solo female traveler in an unfamiliar area dealing with auto issues can be any woman's nightmare.) Heather in the office area was a real joy to converse with (during my 5 hour stay with Grimes) - she even offered to go out and get me lunch, as there were no eating establishments in the immediate area. The rest of the crew, including the owner kept me informed throughout the period as to what my problems were, solutions and possible potential future troubles. And in the event that lack of my correct parts or potential problems further hindered the repair - Heather had already offered to get me to a local hotel for the night. Their prices were very fair, their work very good and their care of their customers excellent (as I witnessed many coming in and out during my stay.) The best compliment that I can pay these folks is that if my daughter were in the same situation I would want this family business to be the ones to help her out.
