About the Getaway Chattahoochee Cabins
Getaway Chattahoochee Cabins is a lodging institution located at 286 Mossy Elm Ridge in Suches, Georgia, United States. Nestled in the forests of Suches, just 2 hours from Atlanta, this outpost offers expansive on-site walking trails and stunning mountain views. Guests can explore nearby waterfalls such as Fall Branch Falls, Long Creek Falls, Sea Creek Falls, and Amicalola Falls, as well as the tranquil waters of North Georgia's finest lakes including Winfield Scott, Blue Ridge, Nottely, and Chatuge.
The institution's location also provides access to a 1-mile, dog-friendly trail that gradually climbs from Lake Winfield Scott Campground and merges with the Appalachian Trail, offering ridge-line views and a lovely loop into the Blood Mountains. Guests can also visit a local favorite to stock up on fresh ingredients for campfire recipes.
Situated at the edge of the Chattahoochee National Forest with views of the North Georgia mountains, this award-winning vineyard offers a lovely spot to sip and brunch. Cabins are scattered throughout the outpost, with neighbors nearby. Guests are asked to keep noise levels down to ensure everyone can enjoy the peace and quiet.
Due to the secluded nature of the outpost, cell phone service may be spotty, but each cabin is equipped with a landline for emergencies. Parking is available near each cabin, and guests can expect to see other cabins on the land.
Most outposts run off a city feed, but some Eastern Catskills cabins have a limited supply of about 150 gallons. Hot water is also limited, lasting about five minutes for a quick shower. Guests are asked not to set up tents to preserve the solitude for neighbors.
Getaway makes a donation to One Tree Planted with every booking. Guests can sign up for exclusive offers, updates, and tips on enjoying nature, and receive 15% off their first Getaway by signing up for text messages.

Reviews of Getaway Chattahoochee Cabins
"The magic of these cabins is gone for me. I've been going to these cabins for years now, and the decline in quality is noticeable. I no longer feel that they're providing an authentic experience. It just feels money grabby/hungry at this point. You are now charged for all the little things that once made these cabins feel very authentic to me. And mind you, these cabins aren't cheap, you're already spending hundreds of dollars for a few days. I miss the days were I would go to these cabins after a few months of hard labor, and have a pack of smores and a kind note waiting for me without it costing $5 to touch. It felt more authentic that way, like this company actually cared about their mission of creating genuine rest/relaxation and fostering creativity for their guests. Now it just feels like a Marriott in the woods, where you can expect to be charged for any small thing that would make this experience stand out from other cabins in the area. Even the nonrefundable rates are kind of ridiculous...they did NOT use to be like this at all. Like why are we advertising cabins to be a certain price, then adding $10 just for the option to change dates or use the promotions? Again, becoming very money hungry. I hope they reconnect with their core values. You would be better off with a tiny house from one of the other major rental sites - you can get pretty much the same experience, except most hosts will simply provide you tea and/or coffee without charging you $2 each for it. If you do decide to go with the cabins, I also recommend buying your own firewood. Or simply buying what you need individually from what getaway provides. But do not get the firewood package that they offer...not worth it!"
"Update: submitted a partial refund request thru Airbnb and got $300 back. Getaway accepted the request immediately. First time staying in a Getaway Cabin. Was a little pricy for what we got, but alright experience overall! Pros: - book selections in cabin was awesome, very cool touch. Same goes for the deck of cards. - loved the free dog treats, waste bags, food bowls - very clean, soft beds and warm blankets - great outdoor area Cons - booking photos did not represent the cabin we stayed in. The photo showed the main view of a beautiful hillside overlooking a lake, that was not our view at all. Ours was just of the busy road below. Lots of sounds of cars going by. Definitely a misrepresentation (which is illegal to do). - the listing said the kitchen was fully stocked. Given that I was surprised to find that almost every one of the creamers provided we’re expired and the knives were too dull to use. - It was awesome that people who book thru Airbnb get firewood included, but that was very unclear when we got there. We texted Getaway and they were very responsive, but clarity on site would’ve been good. - the recommendations flyer on-site included businesses that have been closed for years"
"We spent a night here and we had a wonderful stay. The cabins are well designed, modern and equipped. There was even a lovely welcome kit for our Dog, we would definitely go back. Also, we had bbq at the Cafe across the street which was wonderful."
"UDPDATE: They reviewed my situation, made an exception and issued me a refund. I still look forward to staying here soon when I need a "disconnected" getaway. Original review: I booked this morning for a work retreat for me and my business partner. As soon as I discovered that there is no cell phone or internet service, I asked to cancel for a refund. This was within a few HOURS. I was told no. I understand the benefit of a “disconnected” retreat, but that is not what I need for this particular occasion. There should be an obvious warning when booking that there is no Internet or cell service. I was looking forward to staying here one day, but now I won’t because of the poor customer service received. Could have been handled much better."
"We stayed here this past weekend and had a great time! Easy parking spot next to the place and the grounds were nice. Stargazing was awesome and the whole area feels very quiet and safe. The location is in the middle of nowhere, and at least 40 minutes away from some big attractions but it’s a beautiful drive! However, there is an incredible BBQ spot right next to the cabins which is sooo delicious!!! We hiked to Blood Mountain via Byron Reece trail which wasn’t too far (~40 mins away) from the cabin. The cabin itself is VERY small but comfortable enough for two people for two nights. The heater worked remarkably well and there’s hot water but it doesn’t last long. The views were awesome from the cabin and the blackout shades worked surprisingly well. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would come again."
