Reviews of J.P. Moseley Recreation Center-North Henry Tigers
"I really want to give this place a good rating, but they have the worst communication about open gym (basketball); member by the way. I came here last Saturday around 2pm because there are always parents or skills coaches training kids taking up the courts every weekend, in the morning, and the site says they close at 5pm. Usually there's at least one older gentleman at the desk and would warn me about a time or court adjustment, if any. But this time it was just two younger gentlemen that not only didn't acknowledge me, as I always say "hello" upon arrival, but there was no indication that they were closing at 3pm, until the final '10 minute' call at 2:50pm. Then the following Wednesday or Thursday evening, I arrived around 630pm, because they close at 9pm. All the courts were filled with kids practicing except one, so I was just getting my shots up, wondering why no one else was there for open gym. About 45 minutes in, I was told that I had to leave because open gym is over at 530pm, and if I didn't ask 'why?', the older gentleman would not have explained that it's now like that for the new youth basketball season; he almost seemed annoyed that he had to explain.. THIS Saturday, I was intentional about arriving within the 30 minutes of them opening. Only to arrive with basketball teams everywhere overflowing in the hallway and was told that there is no open gym on Saturdays now, and of course, no further explanation as far as the timeline of this tournament season, so I left quietly, but at the same time disgruntled. I don't come here A LOT, but often enough that I am recognized and people know me, yet I never feel that I am well informed. ALMOST ALWAYS there is a time adjustment when I come, or a limit to what courts can be used, at the very least 50% of my visits. What is the point of paying for a membership or listing a time of operation that's not being followed? Although very affordable, it's frustrating that I can't even play ball for a peace of mind. I get that kids need recreational time too, so that's not my issue, but y'all really need to make some adjustments or accommodations for paying members.. YOU BASICALLY HAVE TO BE RETIRED, UNEMPLOYED, OR WORK NIGHT SHIFTS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP IF YOU WANT TO COME HERE TO PLAY BASKETBALL."
"I'm not a member of their gym nut I like this place. They have all types of classes year-round. I love the playground for children. They have a really good trail for a nice walk or run. There's a huge baseball field that can be enjoyable. Parking is pretty good although when there's a baseball game it is ridiculously packed. Thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere."
"There is something for everyone. I walk my dog there 2-3xs a wk. Approx 4 baseball fields, 4 football fields, 2 playgrounds. Frisby golf. Indoor/outdoor walking. 1.5 mile paved trail through the woods. Indoor gym and basketball court. Lots of activities."
"Nice Clean park just today was very stormy and the weather was not well but most the time part is very clean and friendly people"
"J P Moseley is one of the up d coming rec centers in the state for youth football... The have some points to improve but, overall solid.. I will update this park again in a few months.."
