Dollar General,

"I love most Dollar Generals. I have been to most within a 100 mile radius of my home. I will never stop at this one again. I have never been treated so rudely or hatefully by any employee anywhere! I was there at 8:45 am on May 11 2021. The employee was outside and saw me go in. I had to wait and wait for over 5 minutes for her to decide to come in. I asked where something was and she very hatefully said "you're looking right at them" (the item was hidden behind a display) When checking out I looked for a sign on the card reader that said no cash back, as many of the Dollar Generals seem to be doing that now for some unknown reason, and did not see one. She gave me my $10 and she reached around the plexiglass, rubbed on it, and then nastily said "yep, it's still there" I looked high up on the glass and saw a tiny little sign that said no cash back. I said oh sorry, never thought o look up there. She then said something else that I did not quit catch the words, but again, the same nasty, hateful tone. I drove by several hours later and there were zero customers there. I can understand why if all the employees there are as hateful as that one."

"The staff is always friendly. The store does need more employees, therefore, more hours as it seems that upper management must feel that my time is theirs to waste as often the registerr is not manned at all times. They expect them to be in the back stocking shelves and have to run back and forth doing 2 or three jobs at once. Why make people stand in line to hand you money?"

"I just left Dollar General at Marmet, WV. This is my last visit to this store not that I was a a regular customer. My granddaughter needed a T-shirt to tie dye tomorrow at school so my daughter and myself made a quick run to the closest store. I’ve been in this store before but rarely shop here because it is dirty, unorganized, unstocked with boxes of stock always sitting in the way but shelves are empty. The staff has never been straight out rude but the men are never friendly not even a hello, a head nod or a smile. Day shift women have been nice on the few occasions I was there. We walked in at 9:50p and my daughter went straight to a member of the staff and asked about a T-shirt so we didn’t hold them up while they were trying to close. I was browsing some clearance items (I think they were clearance because they weren’t marked very well) and overheard two staff members talking about my daughter. Ron (I think is a manager) and Jonathon need a lesson in customer courtesy. We were considerate of their schedule and that it was closing time, they should be considerate enough to at least wait until we left the store to gossip. I could clearly hear the rapport between these two gentlemen and I was upset to say the least. As soon as I called my daughters name, they shut up and scattered. Needless to say that we left without purchasing a T-shirt. My daughter also was nice enough to explain why we decided to leave so abruptly. If either one of the staff read this they should remember this incident and I hope they are gracious enough to feel bad for their conduct. Corporate office may need to chat with me in the morning."

"Store is always dirty. But the staff are friendly and helpful when you need help. They rarely have certain items in stock that I do purchase from there. If they have a sale going on they don't seem to stalk enough of that item for the sale dates and they run out quickly. But overall great Dollar General to shop at"

"It is a little on the cluttered side in many parts of this particular store, but it certainly is packed with more items to choose from than many of the local Dol Gen stores around.Shoppers should just be more careful in the tighter areas and not fall over any stray items left by other careless, inconsiderate customers It is also more dirty looking, but that may just be the age of the building and it's floors. Still, the workers are overall very friendly, and don't make you feel like you are a thief or a bother when you are shopping here. ( I say this only because our local Dollar General stores make you leave any big purses or bags outside- no matter who you are OR they watch intently for any suspicious actions...understandably, there are a lot of thieves in our area that have been banned from nearly every store within a 15 mile radius, I am betting.) Shameful, but very factual. Sad it makes the people who truly buy everything with hard earned, and not nearly compensating enough for the mental and physical burdens that come with the territory around these parts."
