Reviews of Phat Daddy's on The Tracks
"This hidden gem with all homemade food is something all should try! The potato soup was absolutely the very best I've ever had. It wasn't just an ordinary, potato tasting version, but something that was creamy with most delicious seasonings that you could see and enjoy the potatoes in every bite. It was so good that I wanted to slowly savor each and every single bite. Next, I enjoyed a unique tasting, tender beef brisket on a chibata roll. I got a tangy BBQ sauce on the side. Again, the seasonings were different and sooooo good. Everything is made fresh here! You order at the window and a very friendly person calls your name when it's ready. Remember that this is deck seating under umbrella tables, so consider this a fair weather stop or eat in your car like you do at a fast food place.. Look at the photos, and see there is a bench for sitting near the wonderfully smelling tub fireplace just in case you want some heat. Parking is easy right out front. And, plenty of tables. If you are traveling down Rt64, you should get off at exit 58C. It's just a few blocks to here. I'm sure you'll be glad that you did. There were at least 6 workers ordering lunch when I got there this day. Several more people showed up, too. No waiting in line. Just order, sit down, and in a few minutes, you're called to pick up. The menu has brisket, and also chicken and shrimp dishes, and even fresh made empenada's. I understand the Mac n cheese is supposed to be the best anywhere. Mmmmmmm.....I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I think I'll go there for lunch today. You should, too, as I highly recommend this unusual BBQ stop."
"Best Smoked BBQ I’ve ever had. Quality, passion, and love are key ingredients in every single thing we ordered from here. This little spot is a MUST try in Charleston. The price is so great for the amount of food, the flavors are next level, and the positive energy shared from the people who work there are all unmatched. This will be our go to in every road trip when we are passing through. There was not a single thing we liked more than the next because it was all delicious. 1000/10."
"The food was great. The chopped cheese (not a philly cheesesteak) was delicious. The seasoning was delicious, the steak was still moist, the onions and peppers were chopped in and melded with the steak like butter. My only knock would be it could have more cheese, though I'm not sure the sandwich would taste better with it. The fries were good crinkle cut fries with seasoning. For 13 bucks this is fantastic food prepared well and simply. Cannot believe more people aren't out supporting such a good local option. As someone traveling through, I generally expect a line at highly rated places but there was not. I hope Cam'ron and this place get the love and support they derserve."
"Was visiting the area from out of state and went here for dinner after receiving multiple recommendations from the locals to check this place out. Arrived at the restaurant around 7:30pm. The employee that was taking my order was somewhat rude when communicating with me while another employee would walk between my friends and I on multiple occasions without once saying excuse me. After placing our order, we waited roughly 45 minutes for our food. When my food arrived, the broccoli and Mac and cheese was lukewarm while the catfish was just warm. The Mac and cheese was very bland and dry. The steamed broccoli had an after taste that I couldn't put my finger on. The catfish was decent but only after it was dipped in hot sauce. As an Out of Towner soul food connoisseur, I was disappointed with my experience at this establishment."
"Grilled shrimp w/ rice, delicious and light. The brisket sandwich.. wow. Brisket was PERFECT, has that caramelized-type crunch. Super friendly too! Absolutely would recommend and will have to go back when in the area."
