"The trail is very narrow in places and if you misstep, you're going over a steep incline. The trail has lots of ankle breaker rocks. We went on a dry day and the falls were small but I imagine the trail is very muddy if it's rained. I do not recommend for children due to safety concerns. We enjoyed the walk but you really have to pay attention to your footing."
"We hiked to both waterfalls and tracked a total of 4.25 miles, that includes wandering around the waterfalls. Both were flowing good as it rained hard the night before. Trail is a little wet, muddy, and slick in places but very easy! This is a great place to relax next to the river and enjoy an amazing view."
"Don't stop at the first falls! Go to the end and experience the magic of this special place. Like a scene from Avatar."
"My wife and I were staying at Pipestem State Park and decided to try hiking. We are both pushing 60 years old and have not hiked much in the past so we were out of shape to say the least. The trail to this falls is a continuation of the trail that leads to Brush Creek Falls. The first part is a little rough and rocky with changing elevation but is not that bad! Once you reach Brish Creek Falls, about 3/8-1/2 mile, the trail flattens out and is much smoother. The exceptions being the occasional water run off areas that cross the trail ( which provide photo opportunities) and require some navigation of wet rocks and mud so wear comfortable, waterproof boots for this hike! You will likely run across some downed trees and will have to cross those as well. There are also a couple of areas that come pretty close to the drop off down to the creek which is, in some places, 30’ - 40’ high so be careful near these! Along the trail, expect to see large rock outcroppings that are a pretty awesome sight also. The signage says that White Oak Falls is 1.75 miles but our phones GPS read 2 miles. Either way, it is a good hike to the falls. When you arrive at the falls, there is ample opportunity for picture taking. If you feel a little daring, you can get down to the water and take pics from the middle of the water where it enters the creek but be careful, it is not an extremely dangerous climb down but being careless is I’ll advised!"
