"I don’t have anything negative to say about this business , but more so about my service that was provided to me by a cosmologist there. It has been months since this took place , but it still bothers me so much , especially because I recently saw her out in public at Walmart which was entirely cringe! But I had also been informed I’m not the only one with complaints. So is it lack of experience, or taking advantage of someone else’s client? This cosmologist was recommended to me by my cosmologist who I have known for years, and who I have been going to regularly for years, I trust her. My cosmologist was going on maternity leave and did my extension move up and on 7/12/23 , each extension move up is $200 flat & then some if you decide to have cut and color as well, plus the tip ( i always tip very well) . I always have an extension on the side of my head loosen , it’s not uncommon. It’s an easy fix, free fix…. the bead or thread just need tightened again. Nothing else needed touched.. I told this new girl specifically my cosmologist and (her friend) just did my hair and I just needed an extension piece re-tightened in one spot (I later found out my cosmologist made this was clear) . I get there on 7/28/23 and the place is cute & hip.. We’re talking, she’s lovely, funny, smiley , nice. I see why her and my cosmologist are friends. After she is finished tightening that one piece , she’s looking around and tightening them all… I stopped her because I honestly thought it was odd, and I was confused. I said “oh you don’t have to do that” and she responded “I know but might as well why you’re here!” I thought this was so generous & good clientele treatment. Once she was finished she asked if I wanted her to curl my hair and I was like, yes please! We already thinking the thinking the same thing. I was of course going to pay her for curling my hair because it is considered a hairstyle, she did her friend / cosmetologist a favor by squeezing me in, (which in favor pleases the clientele), she was giving, and kind. Basically , we’re all winning. I get to the cash register and she no-lie tries to charge me for a extension-move up. I’m speechless, absolutely baffled, thrown off guard. The entire situation was just uncomfortable. There was another client sitting in the chair staring, I stopped her and said… but you didn’t do an extension move up, I got that done two-weeks ago. She shrugs her shoulders and said “well that’s what *blank* said it was, how about $120 instead of $200?” I’m at a loss for words at the point honestly. I’m thinking to myself, we’re really trying to negotiate a price? I didn’t continue to push the subject further, I knew right then and there she had no experience with extensions, but she surely knew the charge amount. I paid and I even tipped her because I got the vibe it was needed. On 8/1/23 that same extension came loose AGAIN. I was beyond upset because it shouldn’t have came loose in three days, I was out $120 + tip, unhappy, and honestly felt taken advantage of. I was still mature and adult enough to reach out after this to let her know like hey this isn’t okay, & I truthfully didn’t want anyone else to go through this god awful experience. I told her flat out how I was feeling and wanted to make amends with her because this can be a learning experience & even offered to schedule my next move up with her like originally planned /recommended. She was completely down for it , but then told me she was also “on vacation that week” so we scheduled for 8/31/23 . I had to reschedule due to my son’s orientation that day and told her and she never once replied to me, never even attempted which left me felt like I was just being avoided. At this point, I still didn’t tell my cosmologist any of this info bc I didn’t want to stress her out on maternity leave. I went to her house to visit 8/25 and told her then, oh and she did my move up then too. It’s okay to not know things and speak up about them, that’s how we learn. If you can’t do the job, don’t let your friend recommend you. My personal experience."
