"Situated at the tip of a mountain ridgeline, Long Point Overlook offers some of the most scenic views available in the New River Gorge National Park. The nearly panoramic views (~ 300 degrees) include the famous bridge and the gorge. This is an excellent place to eat, rest, and bask in the glory of nature."

"Even when you live here, it's still a great walk out to long point overlook any time ofthe year. Nice walk through the woods, a little bit of up and down but not bad. Usually a little crowded on weekends and Holidays. Try going early in the week to avoid the crowds!"

"I enjoyed the scenic 3 mile (out and back) hike to the beautiful overlook. At the lookout, I could see a distant view of the New River Bridge. The mountains and the river below provided a nice panoramic view."

"Offers the best view of the New River Gorge Bridge. It is a 1.6 mile trail leading from the trailhead to the overlook, making it 3.2 miles round trip. The trail is fairly easy and is relatively flat, making it doable on a bike for the most part, except for the last bit right before reaching the overlook, which is steep and narrow at a couple of places. The overlook also offers great views of the Appalachian Mountains. I'll recommend doing this trail."

"This was a nice short hike and had a great view of the New River Gorge. My girlfriend and I took a fair few pictures after having done the bridge walk earlier that morning, and it was great to have the perspective of where we had earlier done that tour. The whole gorge is just pleasant to look out across and I'd recommend this to anyone doing the bridge tour or just visiting the park. The accessibility of the trail is also appealing for any level of experience- the few kids we saw on the trail were navigating it well."
