"Came here to get some drone footage of this dam. Was a bit surprised the you can't physically drive but understandable. Short mostly flat hike to Hawks Nest trial #3. Then a small path down to the river bed."
"Hawks Nest Dam separates the New River and Hawks Nest Lake. You can get a great view of the dam and area from the overlook at Hawks nest State Park. This is a great place to stretch and stroll the easy walk down the stone path from the parking area to the overlook all while learning the history of the area. The views are well worth the stop."
