"I was out for an afternoon cruising the countryside and was hoping for some local flavor for lunch. The open front door drew me right in. The melt sandwich was great the brusslesprouts were delicious, and the local cider was perfect. I didn't plan on coming here the first time but I do plan on coming back."
"TL;DR This restaurant is the cat's pajamas and if you're in the vicinity, treat yo'self to the taste sensations at this little off-the-beaten-path dining destination. On a recent trip to Hocking Hills, we stayed at an Air BnB in Amesville. The guest guide book suggested Park's Place, and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is casual with wooden tables and a friendly wait staff. The restaurant takes pride in sourcing many of the ingredients from local farms, including the milk. The creamery supplies them with whole milk and a rotating selection of flavors. My dining partner enjoyed the cookies n' cream flavor (and took a half gallon to go with fresh brownies from the bakery). My group hit up the place for dinner and decided to return for brunch the next day! I had the mushroom swiss burger, which was cooked to order (I love my burgers rare, and I trust local farms to have the quality of meat I need for undercooked ingredients), and crispy on the outside. I had a salty, vinegary Brussels sprouts side with chopped bacon. My dining partner shared his Nashville hot chicken (if you like spicy food, it had an ok burn, but we added more house-made hot sauce on the table to give us the "mouth sweats" we crave), fries, and mac n cheese. The fries were crispy, almost shoestring style, and the pasta was tangy and gooey without tasting like it was fake. There were no survivors for photos. :) The next morning I was better about remembering to photograph my meal and my dining partner's. I had the southwest omelette and added extra veggies (you know, because health). I couldn't finish the omelette AND the crispy home fries AND the house-made sourdough toast, lightly charred on the griddle. My dining partner shared some of his biscuits and gravy, and ladies and gentlemen, this gravy was legit! I am not typically inclined to try the sausage gravy at a new restaurant because, as inferred in my earlier comment, I likes it spicy. The gravy was peppery and spicy and flavorful, as God intended. Every baked item that rolls out of the kitchen is amazing, so yes the biscuit was fluffy and moist. There was a blueberry muffin and cinnamon roll for the table. The muffin was bursting with blueberry goodness, and the cinnamon roll was soft and very cinnamon-forward with a crunchy, caramelized sugar bottom. The cream cheese icing was perfect. Did I mention the fresh-squeezed orange juice? There is a kids menu, and I have to imagine those items are just as delicious as everything else. Who knows? We're here for two more days; we might plow through more amazing menu items. P.S. As of September 2022, the restaurant does not yet have its liquor license, but expect to see local items at the bar when it arrives."
"Great early dinner tonight, loved our cheerful server. The only negative comment I have, would be the temperature of the restaurant was to cool to take our jackets off. 100% worth the drive and don't leave without getting whipped topping either in a bowl or on a desert."
"Park's Place has become my favorite go-to local place for any meal. Their food is FABULOUS! The chicken marsala, corn hash and toast & gravy is amazing. I would highly recommend checking them out! Support your local businesses!"
"Holy wow was this the perfect hole in the wall for breakfast. They have a solid number of vegetarian options which was a pleasant surprise. The prices were amazing but the real star of the show is the pie. We tried the pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies and I would order any of them again."
