"Awesome spot quite literally off the beaten path! So glad we chose to stop here en route back to VA from Colorado. The surroundings are serene, peaceful and sites are not on top of one another. Ted was super friendly and accommodating and immediately dropped off firewood once we mentioned it. The road in is slightly sketchy, narrow but we managed our 47ft Toyhauler through just fine. Well worth the drive back! Definitely reccomend and if we're ever in the area again, will definitely stop. Thanks yall! ❤️"
"Wife and I stayed 2 nights here at an RV campsite. The location is great and close to Charleston, however, we will not recommend or return due to a bad experience with Ted, the owner/manager. The first time I met him was on the 2nd day, and he proceeded to chew me out because my wife had sprayed some water from the spigot on the dusty road that ran next to the campsite. That road is the only way in and out, and some other campers further down were speeding by and kicking up a lot of dust, so spraying water on the road was done to help with the issue. With no warning, Ted drove up and chewed me out and said that water is expensive (I believe he said 3 cents a gallon) from city water. He said he was going to charge me $10 for the extra water, and he did. I mentioned that trucks were speeding by and he said there is a 15mph speed limit, but he has no way to enforce it. Seems to me he could charge them $10 for speeding since his rules actually say "5mph speed limit", yet the rules do not mention any restrictions on water use. I think he needs someone who can deal with people and attend anger management training in the meantime."
"There are not any rooms. But I just wanted to say this. Service was amazing!!! I called this place at like 2am with absolutely nowhere to go because we had to leave our hotel room. It had bugs!!!! So with absolutely no money and not knowing a thing about WV I started calling everyone. I wasn't having any luck, but this guy answered and I'm telling you he had to have been sleeping but he answered with such great happiness and a warm heart! He told us we could sleep here even if it was in our car. I had 3 children with us and he gave us a safe place to sleep off of the road or parking lot! This place is worth camping here!"
"I love this campground!!! Finally a place where I feel like we are camping in the great outdoors. Quiet and rustic. Owner is caring and responsive. The continuous improvements just help make it better. This is not a commercial paved roads and bells and whistles commercial operation. But if you want to get back to a quaint quiet outdoor experience this place is great!"
