"I had been going to Summersville Pediatrics since I was 3 years old, and had seen the same provider for all of that time. When I found out, at 19, that I was pregnant with my baby girl, I knew I wanted her to have the same pediatrician I did. Since I was only 20 when I had my child, I was still being seen by this office and was told MULTIPLE TIMES by my provider that this was fine and it wasn't uncommon at all for her to see both moms and babies until you were ready to transition to a primary care provider. Somehow, my 5 month old and I ended up having appointments on the same day! Funny, right? Yesterday morning, at about 8 am, I get a call from the office, and assume it's to confirm both mine and my daughter's appointments. It's a receptionist (I'm assuming. She didn't state her name, but now I wish I'd have asked for it...), and she confirms my daughter's appointment, pauses, and then asks if I have an appointment that day as well. I tell her yes, and start to joke about how odd it is that we're both being seen on the same day. She proceeds to DIRECTLY contradict what I was told MULTIPLE TIMES by our provider, and VERY rudely tell me that I can not be seen because "Once you have a child here, you have to find an adult provider." Fine, but if that's the case, make it clear when I come in there with a newborn, and don't speak to me like I'm some sort of idiot/trying to get one over on you. I decide that if that's how they're going to speak to someone who's supported them for 21 years, then they won't have our business anymore. I tell her to cancel my daughter's appointment, and without even confirming time and date OR asking about rescheduling vaccinations, the woman says "It's canceled!" and hangs up. It pains me to do this, but I'm switching my daughter over to Cardinal Pediatrics. We love our doctor, but I won't put up with rudeness from the office staff."
"The parking for this place is horrible. They made all close parking spot handicapped so now I have to carry my baby in a car seat with her diaper bag and my todler all the way across a parking lot to get her to her appointment. That is ridiculous! If it were a doctors office for adults that would be fine but it is so hard to get two small children across a parking lot with cars flying by. I am going to find a new doctor's office because of this."
"Summersville Pediatrics has always been available for my children. My children have been treated here for over 20 years now. Sure...there might be a short wait if demand is high, but they are always available to help you. They are very caring and professional at Summersville Pediatrics. You will have to travel a long ways to find another crew that can compare to this one. Thank you Summersville Pediatrics for all you do!"
"Never able to be seen for my child's appointment on time. I try to be at the place 10 minutes early only to wait 45 minutes to an hour before seen. Place is absolutely worthless. Staff just stand around and laugh and talk. They don't seem to care at this place. The doctors look at you like you're the most worthless typical drug addict, West Virginia parent and I'm not even from this state! Will be taking my children elsewhere."
