Casselman River Bridge
About the Business
Casselman River Bridge State Park, located in Jennings, Maryland, is currently closed to the public due to safety concerns. The historic bridge, built in 1813, is in need of restoration and repair to prevent failure. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has secured funding to begin restoration work in 2024. The park, popular for picnicking, fly fishing, and photography, is a 4-acre parcel along the Casselman River. Although the bridge no longer carries vehicular traffic, it is open to pedestrians and accessible for disabled visitors. The Department of Natural Resources is committed to preserving the State's natural resources and leading efforts to secure a sustainable future. The park remains a popular fishing spot, as the river is stocked by the Department. Visitors can still access the river for fishing outside of the state park boundaries. Additionally, the Department operates a fraud hotline to report any misuse of State government resources.

"An unexpected stop and a good place to stop for lunch or just a rest. The turf suffer from poor drainage and water pools in some areas. Be careful when it rains. The bridge itself is handicapped accessible with a paved surface."
