"Most beautiful location in the park. Feb week day visit, no crowds. Best views, photos are off the boardwalks"
"No matter what time of year you choose to go, it is always a beautiful site to behold!! It's a dream of some made-up magical world in movies! So peaceful! The parking is limited, so I'd recommend getting there early in the summertime, but there are restrooms available, and the walk is very short and easy. Ample fishing spots, though it is catch and release only, and several spots to sun bathe and swim, even for the young kiddos! Highly recommend everyone adding this location to their bucket list! You will NOT be disappointed!!!"
"An absolutely beautiful place in the New River Gorge Natl Park to visit. So much better than ever other part of the park in my opinion. The boardwalk takes you out on the island to see part of the falls. If you hike from the end around the island you get the real prize. The hike has some rock scrambling and walking over large boulders through streams. Also some quirky climbing or jumping in spots. If your not sure footed I'd stay on the boardwalk. Once on the end of the island you get a view you can't see from any other point. Roaring falls of the New River roaring and spraying mist about. It's just a magical place to sit and enjoy for 10 min or a few hours. Very few people out at the end but so worth it."
"We enjoyed this easy (wheelchair accessible) walk tremendously. The boardwalk curves through waterfalls and a rare ecosystem. There is signage explaining the ecosystem, so it’s both educational and stunningly beautiful."
"One of the most scenic vistas in the New River Gorge National Park. The boardwalk is on the southern end of the park. The drive here will lead you down winding roads that hug the New River. The waterfalls are magical against the river valley. The parking lot is not large so plan accordingly. On weekends and holidays expect to be surrounded by tourists. Take your time and enjoy the views, nature at its best."
